2014 to See a BMW X4

At a time in the automotive world when SUVs are declining and compact fuel efficient vehicles are the newest trend, Autoweek reports that BMW is planning on adding another SUV to its lineup. This small SUV will be called the X4, but don't let its size fool you, because it will take a few cues from the large X6 in design and driving characteristics. Concept drawings show that the X4 will have the same nose and long, arching roof prominently seen on the X6, as well as a very similar angled rear hatch.

At this time, nothing is for sure since the X4 isn't scheduled to be released at least until 2014. That means that a host of changes could take place. The report does sight speculation, however, that the manufacturing site chosen for the X4 will be the company's Spartanburg, SC facilities. The reasoning behind this is the timeless American thirst for high-riding hatches. Looks like we'll have to keep a close watch over this one.
