Abarth Ferrari 695 Tribute Sells out Fast in Australia

45 Abarth 695 Ferrari Tribute cars are set to arrive in Australia after the first batch of 40 hot hatches sold out instantly.

The Abarth Ferrari 695 Tribute is so popular Down Under that 45 more units have just been shipped in an attempt to quell the Aussie's thirst for the super hatch. Abarth Australia's GM Andrei Zaitzev said he was “blown away” by the demand for the super hatchback after the first 40 copies were snatched up instantly. According to CarAdvice, the hatch flew out of dealerships within hours. Zaitzev said "There was, therefore, only one thing we could do: Get on the phone and plead for more cars for Australia. And it worked."

He continued: "We now have another 45 Abarth 695 Tributo Ferraris en route to Australia and that means another 45 Australians are going to be the very lucky owners of the bambino with the Ferrari genes." Abarth and Ferrari's collaboration saw a modded Garret turbocharged 1.4-liter T-Jet engine make its way into the Fiat 500 and truly become the hottest hatch on the market. The tribute car based on the Abarth 500 Essence can sprint from 0-62mph in under 7 seconds and reach a top speed of 140mph. Performance was helped by a Record Monza variable back pressure dual-mode exhaust.

The car is also very light weight. It features an exterior covered in carbon fiber with gray air intakes and xenon headlights. A luxury interior is provided by way of Alcantara leather and carbon and aluminum pieces. The Abarth Ferrari 695 Tribute is priced at $69,990 and is the most expensive light car in Australia. Again, only 40 copies will be made available so if you are hanging ten in the Land Down Under make sure to place your orders fast.
