SEMA 2011: Mazda2 Turbo and 3dCarbon Concepts

A pair of Mazda2 Concepts makes their debut at SEMA.

We covered the MX-5 Spyder Concept earlier today, and having now seen this pair of Mazda2 Concepts we felt compelled to share them, with the Mazda2 Turbo a particularly cool concept. Fitted with the MAZDASPEED's MZR 2.3-liter Direct Injection Spark Ignition (DISI) turbo engine, which produces 263hp and 280lb-ft of torque, given it's significantly lighter than the Mazda3, it should produce some impressive acceleration figures, however Mazda were not forthcoming with any performance numbers.

Handling improvements include a coil-over suspension kit, sway bars by Corksport, customized Brembo brakes and shiny black 17-inch OZ Racing wheels. The Turbo's interior gains bucket seats trimmed in black leather with yellow piping. In comparison, the 3dCarbon Concept is a bit more grounded featuring a custom body kit with a new front air dam, side skirts, a rear lower diffuser and a Touring-spec upper rear spoiler. Special black on green graphics, an Eibach suspension, and 18-inch alloys complete the concept.
