Video: Nissan Juke Nismo Concept to Debut in Tokyo

Nissan unveils their Juke Concept ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show.

As the performance arm of Nissan, Nismo has been busy with the Juke in order to showcase a concept model at the Tokyo Motor Show. Known simply as the Juke Nismo Concept, Nissan has come up with a premium sports version of the compact crossover looking lower, wider and tougher than the original Juke. "The global sales success of Nissan Juke has proved beyond doubt that customers are looking for something different."

"The Juke Nismo Concept takes that idea to the next level. It's energetic, distinctive and highly desirable," said Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. When it came to the body kit, finished in signature colors of pearl white with red headlights, Nismo's aerodynamic specialists created something with style and substance. The revised lower front & rear bumpers, wider fenders and sill side skirts are all dynamically highly efficient, while the car's aerodynamic performance has been further enhanced by changing the grille pattern, modifying the tailgate spoiler and altering the shape of the door mirrors.

New 19-inch alloys, a lower and stiffer chassis, and an uprated 1.6-liter direct injection turbo engine, are other changes that combine to deliver more power and performance (figures yet to be announced).

On the inside the steering wheel, pedals, gauges, shifter knob and door trims have all been redesigned, the dial and needle on the tachometer have been illuminated in red, and special leather-trimmed bucket seats have been fitted.
