Lotus and Swizz Beats Unveil Special Edition Chrome Lotus Evora GTE

An understated body kit is all that was required for this already-awesome Evora GTE.

Earlier this year, the Lotus Evora GTE was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and as a road-going version of the Evora GTE cup car it was released as a serious driving machine. That's probably why the latest special edition has left the mechanics of the car alone, and concentrated purely on the aesthetics. As part of a new partnership between rapper/producer Swizz Beats and New Lotus Designs, the Evora GTE was given a chrome color body kit and not much else besides.

The special-edition Lotus was showcased at Alvin Ailey's Opening Night Gala, a star-studded event featuring Alicia Keys and John Legend, and this collaborative effort will eventually see unique Lotus models such as this coming to the market. Producing 438hp from the racing-inspired 3.5-liter V6, the Evora GTE's engine it mated to a sequential AMT racing gearbox, and also boasts lightweight forged alloys with center-lock hubs and Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires, while carbon-fiber has been used in abundance both inside and out.
