Description: Volkswagen had promised us four different engine options for the new Jetta, but so far we've only heard about two naturally-aspirated gasoline options and one TDI. None of these are bad engines, ...Add Comments0

That's not strictly true. But if you have no power and have to mash your foot down to do 30, then yeah more power will actually help your fuel economy. And it really depends more on how you drive, not just what you drive too
Lee HyattFeb 11, 2011 Anthony you just have an A4? (I'm asking bc ur car sounds very appealing!)
Reinaldo Puchu PiñateFeb 10, 2011 Actually a bit more power means that the engine has to work less to move the car :D getting more mpg
Andy RogersFeb 10, 2011 Wow that's really good. A 4WD, decently powerful, tuned luxury car that still gets 32mpg
Seems like Anthony knows a lot more than the engineers that make hybrids. I'm not kidding either
Anthony NoonFeb 10, 2011 And I'm not doing anything else because the stageIII don't do so good with the tiptronic trans. They start to grenade around 400ft/lbs
Anthony NoonFeb 10, 2011 And even with the quattro my car gets 32 mpg highway
Anthony NoonFeb 10, 2011 John i have a APR stageII 2.0T quattro premium.
Andy RogersFeb 10, 2011 Ok maybe not sucked (I'm being a bit more ridiculous today), bit they definitely weren't the best generation of VWs
Andy RogersFeb 10, 2011 @Ethan
So because it doesn't look a lot different it sucks? Ok then...
And I like VWs, but the MkIVs sucked. At least the Jetta and Golf did. I still want one, but it would be a bad idea for me. Almost like an Alfa
Lee HyattFeb 10, 2011 Maybe Anthony modded his a little bit
John FrumFeb 10, 2011 The 2.0 never made 255/357. Not even the upgraded version in the Golf R. It's prob a V6. And 357 must be in Nm.
Plus the 265 hp 2.0T was never in the A4. Speaking of which, the GLI should get the A4's version of the 4-cylinder, which makes 211/258.
Anthony NoonFeb 10, 2011 Nothing wrong with the 2.0T. My 2.0T is making 255hp /357tq in my A4
Jason DannheimFeb 10, 2011 I agree with Ethan. The MK IV GLI was way better. Beside the looks of this one, the powerplant is lacking now. They first introduced this engine back in '06, and still makes just 200 hp. Modify it a bit VW. The MS3 has you beat by a whole 63 hp.
Ethan BessentFeb 10, 2011 Yea but it is still a POS. Compare a 04 GLI to an 04 jetta..BIG difference. Front spoiler, sideskirts wheels just LOOKS better. Visually there is almost no difference now. SoMe red stitching and different rims? They got really lazy with this GLI. :(
Andy RogersFeb 10, 2011 They say by only does it add power, but it gives you more stuff as standard. So a great deal all around. Also gets rid of the prehistoric suspension and instead has a modern independent setup. I think they get rid of the drum brakes as well
Andy RogersFeb 10, 2011 Saw this either yesterday or 2 days ago. Should be good
Description: The engine produces 200 horsepower and 207lb-ft of torque, the same as the GTI. You will have a choice of six-speed manual transmission VW's DSG, and the GLI will get the same XDS cross different...Add Comments1
John FrumFeb 10, 2011 :(
Hoping for 258 ft/lb from the A4.
Paul LissonaFeb 24, 2012 You get a really good special feeling from the solidness of German cars and handling etc.
Andy RogersMay 02, 2011 @Angel
Yes. ALL Korean cars to date are boring like no other
Reinaldo Puchu PiñateFeb 12, 2011 I have a jetta VI 2011 and it has 170hp. Yeah it looks beautiful but i am jealous of the 30 extra hp that Koreans get
Angel G. Ortega-ValentinFeb 11, 2011 Granted German engineering is amazing, but just like Detroit has lost it's muscle car domination, VW and others should pay attention to the Korean's momentum...they don't have awards in every class for nothing...
Angel G. Ortega-ValentinFeb 11, 2011 So then the RWD masterpiece from Hyundai called the Genesis Coupe 2.0T is boring? True it only makes 210hp stock but if it has caught the attention of tuners like HKS, then the Koreans like Hyundai and KIA are on to something
Andy RogersFeb 11, 2011 And what generation of Jetta do you have?
Andy RogersFeb 11, 2011 But the Kia is Korean and the VW is German so I'd still take the Jetta. I don't know how many times I've said this but no offense to Korean people, I have a bunch of Korean friends (I have friends of all races), you just make crappy, boring cars
Reinaldo Puchu PiñateFeb 11, 2011 Less plastic than my jetta looks good!
And mine feels great already... Kia optima still makes 200hp for less than 20k though and the turbo does 274 D:
More competition yay !
Andy RogersFeb 10, 2011 Still a really good interior
Got a chance to sit in a MkVI GTI (basically the same interior), fanastic! I envy one even more!
Andy RogersFeb 10, 2011 The Focus ST is your dream car? Or a realistic dream car?
My dream car cost about $625k more than the what the ST will probably cost. My realistic dream car is the Golf GTI, which is about the same price
Phillip KernerFeb 10, 2011 Looks like an Audi from this view
