Spied: Vauxhall Astra VXR

There are some new spy photos of the next generation Vauxhall Astra VXR, which is also known as the Opel Astra OPC. The Astra was caught out winter testing way up in northern Sweden; however the vehicle was still sporting some temporary panels. Nonetheless, we are still able to catch a glimpse of the overall design through those panels, including the shape of the lights.

The Astra VXR is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection gasoline engine that can churn out around 300-horsepower. This great amount of power is shot directly to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. The VXR will also be equipped with an electronic limited differential and HyPerStrut front suspension layout from Insignia VXR with FlexRide adaptive damping system. We can expect to see the vehicle debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Photos courtesy of gmotors.co.uk.
