Description: British car magazine Autocar believes the perfect sports car exists, at least on paper and in pictures. Fortunately, the magazine has created this and according to Editor-at-Large Steve Sutcliffe, it ...Add Comments10
Ian Richard HendryMay 25, 2011 Surely Andrew if they were talking EU they put a Euro sign?
Drew PeirceMay 24, 2011 A believe that would be a lotus you just defined
Mike HawkMay 24, 2011 I'm confused. Could the editor please verify the price?
$56k - American or £56k UK pounds
(Only because this is a UK car)
Luis RuizMay 24, 2011 That's a big claim there stating, it better be faster than a veyron, better suspension than an evo, spacious and easy on the gas (mpg) by the looks it's neither, yes it does look good and mean, but not enough for me to say the best car
Adonis VasileiouMay 24, 2011 The perfect driver's car is the 430 scuderia convertible, it's fun, makes one of the best noises a car can make, it's red, it's glamourous and it's a Ferrari. Period
Luis RuizMay 24, 2011 Reminds me of a stingray, and I'm not taking about the corvette. I would so buy this car though I like the windshield and the fact that's a convertible.
Jonathan HollandMay 24, 2011 58K?!! I'll take!...wait, i still can't afford it >.>
Chris PenzaMay 24, 2011 I'm with aston black on black on red
Luis A VillalpandoMay 24, 2011 For that price I'll take one in black and green or black and yellow.
Description: We're also digging this concept and fully agree with Sutcliffe in that "as the world of cars gets ever more complex and produces machines that are increasingly sophisticated in their design ...Add Comments7
Jonathan BowenMay 24, 2011 Paddle shift gearbox? Did I read that right? I was thinking that would be the #1 thing it wouldn't have. What's the point of this car again?
Mike HawkMay 24, 2011 If this car never existed, Lotus could easily fit such descriptions
(and it does)
John ParkMay 24, 2011 Im suprised they didnt di a manual tranny
Luis A VillalpandoMay 24, 2011 Dang Ian beat me to it, nicely said dude.
Mike LanzaMay 24, 2011 Sounds like Subaru STi and Evo territory
Luis LujanMay 24, 2011 Simple, fast cars like the Mustang GT or Camaro SS or Challenger R/T.
Reinaldo Puchu PiñateMay 24, 2011 I will be the third one in line to buy this for 56k
Spencer PeirceMay 24, 2011 Perfect! Has that Silvia looking front end. Love it.
Description: It should also look "low, wide, mean, and beautiful." Ideally, it would have a space frame chassis made from aluminum and steel and body panels made from glass fiber-reinforced plastic and c...Add Comments15
Henry WertzMay 25, 2011 You're scoffing too much about a diesel sports car. The one concern would be engine note, but i think the proper resonator could make it sound right. Regarding acceleration "despite" low HP figures.. horsepower doesn't get a car moving, torque does, and a turbodiesel will make almost peak torque right at idle. Unorthodox maybe but i like the idea.
Taylor GreenfieldMay 24, 2011 a nice engine would have been Audi's 2.5 liter 5 cylinder turbocharged engine :)
Drew PeirceMay 24, 2011 Or a lotus that fills all the specs except ga mileage of 26
Anthony Villa-GarciaMay 24, 2011 But just imagine the potiential with the 335d engine or mb E350d
Alex CameronMay 24, 2011 Pretty impressive numbers
Mike HawkMay 24, 2011 What's wrong with a hi-performance VW diesel? I'd bet it's a TDI.
Anthony Villa-GarciaMay 24, 2011 I would have been fine with 335d engine with a remapped ecu. Not a VW diesel engine built for mpg!
Brad HensonMay 24, 2011 Of course only the British would make an awesome sports car then put a diesel in it
Brady FeredayMay 24, 2011 Diesel motors are beast if you can tune them right the cummins motor and yes I know is a truck motor but still that motor can get trucks in to 11s 1/4 miles and that's in a truck that weighs 6k pounds
Brett PowersMay 24, 2011 You know the idea of a diesel sports car has been around for a long time. Diesel can provide performance, the only difference is you can't rev them like you can a gas motor. Gas mileage will be much better and it has more torque than most 250hp gas motored cars. I say kudos to the designer!
Reinaldo Puchu PiñateMay 24, 2011 If this was made I'm pretty sure there would be options but the point is that it gets 50mpg and goes 0-60 in 4.5. And that's pretty damn good. I'm guessing they tried to make it pretty great all around.
Jerrel TioFelix NealMay 24, 2011 Wow..... VW diesel? You lost me.
....... On to the next article.
Shane CarrollMay 24, 2011 What about the noise? You can't have a proper driver's car without some noise. Now drop a Vantage V8 or a Gallardo V10 in there...
Francis Edward AyalaMay 24, 2011 Agree with the editor on not liking the diesel engine.
Buddy RobinsonMay 24, 2011 That's more torque than the LS or the LT Camaro, the 2011 model too. This car is a brilliant idea.
Surely Andrew if they were talking EU they put a Euro sign?
A believe that would be a lotus you just defined

@Brady. They did say the perfect car (x
Renialdo I think 1200 ponies would be way to much for something under 2200 pounds I think 500 would be perfect though :)
Yes Lotus already make this car.
So like the lotus Elise or exige.
