Surely Andrew if they were talking EU they put a Euro sign?
Drew Peirce May 24, 2011
A believe that would be a lotus you just defined
Mike Hawk May 24, 2011
I'm confused. Could the editor please verify the price? $56k - American or £56k UK pounds (Only because this is a UK car)
Luis Ruiz May 24, 2011
That's a big claim there stating, it better be faster than a veyron, better suspension than an evo, spacious and easy on the gas (mpg) by the looks it's neither, yes it does look good and mean, but not enough for me to say the best car
David Bright May 24, 2011
Hell yes. Sign me up
Adonis Vasileiou May 24, 2011
The perfect driver's car is the 430 scuderia convertible, it's fun, makes one of the best noises a car can make, it's red, it's glamourous and it's a Ferrari. Period
Reinaldo Puchu Piñate May 24, 2011
@Brady. They did say the perfect car (x
Brady Fereday May 24, 2011
Renialdo I think 1200 ponies would be way to much for something under 2200 pounds I think 500 would be perfect though :)
Sebastian Grey May 24, 2011
Yes Lotus already make this car.
Luis Lujan May 24, 2011
So like the lotus Elise or exige.
Luis Ruiz May 24, 2011
Reminds me of a stingray, and I'm not taking about the corvette. I would so buy this car though I like the windshield and the fact that's a convertible.
Morgan Dame May 24, 2011
Venom gt...that's my car
Jonathan Holland May 24, 2011
58K?!! I'll take!...wait, i still can't afford it >.>
Chris Penza May 24, 2011
I'm with aston black on black on red
Luis A Villalpando May 24, 2011
For that price I'll take one in black and green or black and yellow.
Description: We're also digging this concept and fully agree with Sutcliffe in that "as the world of cars gets ever more complex and produces machines that are increasingly sophisticated in their design ...

Paddle shift gearbox? Did I read that right? I was thinking that would be the #1 thing it wouldn't have. What's the point of this car again?
Mike Hawk May 24, 2011
If this car never existed, Lotus could easily fit such descriptions (and it does)
John Park May 24, 2011
Im suprised they didnt di a manual tranny
Luis A Villalpando May 24, 2011
Dang Ian beat me to it, nicely said dude.
Mike Lanza May 24, 2011
Sounds like Subaru STi and Evo territory
Luis Lujan May 24, 2011
Simple, fast cars like the Mustang GT or Camaro SS or Challenger R/T.
Reinaldo Puchu Piñate May 24, 2011
Might as well have called it "Car with an Engine"
Austin Johnson May 24, 2011
This remind anyone else of speed racer?
Michael Lopez May 24, 2011
Imma get it if it's released 100%
Brady Fereday May 24, 2011
I would take one in white but that windshield looks expensive to get replaced lol xD
Aj TheDark Artist May 24, 2011
Would definitely buy this.
Jim Nguyen May 24, 2011
I would never be able to get that down my street, stupid speed bumps.
Luis A Villalpando May 24, 2011
Best looking BS I've ever seen XD
Reinaldo Puchu Piñate May 24, 2011
I will be the third one in line to buy this for 56k
Spencer Peirce May 24, 2011
Perfect! Has that Silvia looking front end. Love it.
Description: It should also look "low, wide, mean, and beautiful." Ideally, it would have a space frame chassis made from aluminum and steel and body panels made from glass fiber-reinforced plastic and c...

You're scoffing too much about a diesel sports car. The one concern would be engine note, but i think the proper resonator could make it sound right. Regarding acceleration "despite" low HP figures.. horsepower doesn't get a car moving, torque does, and a turbodiesel will make almost peak torque right at idle. Unorthodox maybe but i like the idea.
Taylor Greenfield May 24, 2011
a nice engine would have been Audi's 2.5 liter 5 cylinder turbocharged engine :)
Drew Peirce May 24, 2011
Or a lotus that fills all the specs except ga mileage of 26
Anthony Villa-Garcia May 24, 2011
But just imagine the potiential with the 335d engine or mb E350d
Alex Cameron May 24, 2011
Pretty impressive numbers
Mike Hawk May 24, 2011
What's wrong with a hi-performance VW diesel? I'd bet it's a TDI.
Anthony Villa-Garcia May 24, 2011
I would have been fine with 335d engine with a remapped ecu. Not a VW diesel engine built for mpg!
Brad Henson May 24, 2011
Of course only the British would make an awesome sports car then put a diesel in it
Brady Fereday May 24, 2011
Diesel motors are beast if you can tune them right the cummins motor and yes I know is a truck motor but still that motor can get trucks in to 11s 1/4 miles and that's in a truck that weighs 6k pounds
Brett Powers May 24, 2011
You know the idea of a diesel sports car has been around for a long time. Diesel can provide performance, the only difference is you can't rev them like you can a gas motor. Gas mileage will be much better and it has more torque than most 250hp gas motored cars. I say kudos to the designer!
Reinaldo Puchu Piñate May 24, 2011
If this was made I'm pretty sure there would be options but the point is that it gets 50mpg and goes 0-60 in 4.5. And that's pretty damn good. I'm guessing they tried to make it pretty great all around.
Jerrel TioFelix Neal May 24, 2011
Wow..... VW diesel? You lost me. ....... On to the next article.
Shane Carroll May 24, 2011
What about the noise? You can't have a proper driver's car without some noise. Now drop a Vantage V8 or a Gallardo V10 in there...
Francis Edward Ayala May 24, 2011
Agree with the editor on not liking the diesel engine.
Buddy Robinson May 24, 2011
That's more torque than the LS or the LT Camaro, the 2011 model too. This car is a brilliant idea.
Kyle BirdMoore May 25, 2011
Puppydog Koenigsegg CCXR
Raymond Lopez May 25, 2011
Looks like a lambo back and a honda civic frint
Andy Kleschick May 24, 2011
Looks Like a lotus and a lambo
Lukas Lebs May 24, 2011
Back ferrari front lambo
Tom Franquelli May 24, 2011
And ya lost me. I even liked the diesel. But that looks like a civic or something from the side.
Bryan Thomsen May 24, 2011
If you only look at the 2nd part of the picture it looks like a new civic profile
Sebastian Grey May 24, 2011
It is very reminiscent of a Koenigsegg isn't it.
