GWA Tuning Presents their Ferrari 340 Mexico Berlinetta Tribute

The Ferrari 340 Mexico Berlinetta is reborn thanks to GWA Tuning.

GWA Tuning has just announced their special Ferrari 340 Mexico Berlinetta Tribute. How special? This is a one-off tribute to the original Ferrari 340 Berlinetta, of which only three were made and one fetched a cool $4.3 million at the RM Auction last March. Built for the 1952 Carrera Panamericana race in Mexico, one of the original cars, driven by Luigi Chinetti, crossed the finish line just behind two Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwings.

And now, GWA Tuning has taken a Ferrari 456 platform as a base to bring the classic 340 Berlinetta back to life. This platform was re-bodied and then given a new diffuser, rear spoiler, side vents, and front splitters taken from modern Ferraris. The body was also stretched by about 15 inches in order to fit the new platform. The wheelbase, however, was left untouched. The interior was also redesigned with carbon fiber seats, a new roll bar, chronometers, a unique luggage set, and numerous other styling details that seek to replicate the original look. Power is provided by a 5.4-liter V12 with 476hp that's mated to a six-speed manual.

The tuner then added a new exhaust system with free flow air filters. Other changes include a modified suspension and special 18-inch five spoke wheels with a spinner cap that covers the lug nuts. Pricing wasn't announced, but since this is a one-off, it'll undoubtedly be quite expensive.
