Regardless of what Caddy marketing will have us believe, theCaddy will not beat the BMW - or the Merc or Audi for that matter - and will not have a significant impact on the world stage.
The gayts may have the tech to compete with its segment, but overall the dart will have more sales because all the greenies out there will prefer the 40 mpg fun to drive technology packed dart

The Caddy will sell well here. However, I do not believe it will sell well in Europe. Europe already has the standard in luxury sport sedans. And while Caddy say they're the "new standard" the world hasn't accepted it.

People with money to buy the ATS want the status as well. It's like the GTR in China. Too inexepensive for the rich, so they go buy a Ferrari. It's "only" a Nissan. BMW and Audi will outsell the ATS easily.
I have to disagree. The sheer volume of sales would make the Dart a clear winner. The Dart makes Dodge a competitor with a chance of taking the sales crown for the segment. Let's not kid ourselves. The Caddy will finish last in their segment.

Rudolf I do agree with you that Euro car's for the most part are better but I know BMW's are not reliable. My buddy had his 08 335i for 2 months and it was in the shop 3 times. He's had it for over 6 months now and it's gone in 5 times

There is a reason for American cars being high class in Russia. For example a base Corvette costs minimum 60000 $. A base Tahoe is 50000 $. A Mustang is at least 50000 $.

I own a few European cars and a few American, and I can agree that American cars are behind European in terms of interior quality and design. That's something that can be improved. But they are not as horrible as you think. Oh, and BTW in Russia, American cars are considered high class.
If they never change the overall package and keep riding the same line then as innovative as the upgrades are its never a game changer. The release of the Boxster, Caymen, GT and Cayanne were game changers. They redefined a segment.

Rudolf, there's good and bad cars in every country. You talk about how superior the Porshe is but it should be if you think about it. In all the years the 911 has been around it has changed little. The first ones look very much like the new ones.

I love the Ciel and Sixteen concepts. But moving Cadillac to the super luxury market would be a huge gamble. They are not the world class manufacturer they used to be but they're getting better. If the XTS does well enough to take sales away from BMW and Mercedes, they should consider it.
The Ciel puts any Bently or RR to shame IMO. That thing is truly amazing.
If caddy even attempted that they would completely fail. It would also take enough money that caddy could go into limbo

The DTS was a dinosaur with a lot of torque steer. The XTS replacing it shouldn't be driving the front wheels if they want to go against the 7-Series. The lack of a Northstar is also sad.
Speak the truth. This WILL sell and it will change the game for Cadillac just like the Escalade and the CTS did.
