Official: Volkswagen Releases the Five-Door Up!

VW has just released the first official pictures of their five-door variant of the Up!

The Volkswagen 5-door variant of the Up! was leaked last week, so it was only a matter of time until they released the official pics of the model. The 5-door Up! was previewed at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show last year in the guise of the Cross-Up! Concept and it is basically the same car as the 3-door version with just two extra doors. It runs the same engine as the 3-door variant Up!, meaning that the 1-liter 3-cylinder BlueMotion tech-infused powerplant with either 60hp or 75hp will stay around for a bit longer.

It also features VW's pre-collision braking system dubbed City Emergency Braking and the VW sat-nav maps+more Portable Infotainment System. The Volkswagen 5-door Up! will go on sale on March 6th with deliveries to begin in May. In Europe, it will run a €475 premium on top of the 3-door variant for a total price of €10,325.
