Unique AG Excalibur Mercedes for Auction

Lithuanian coachbuilt Mercedes-Benz CL500 has fiberglass body, oversized chrome wheels and Swarovski crystals embedded into the leather upholstery.

Short of a Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe, it's hard to find a luxury coupe that exceeds the Mercedes-Benz CL. Essentially a two-door S-Class, the CL is Mercedes' answer to the Bentley Continental GT. But one man thought he could do better. That man was Audronis Gestautas, and this was his answer. Called the AG Excalibur, this coachbuilt CL500 was the second product of the Lithuanian modifier, and was presented at the Top Marques show in Monaco alongside a BMW M6 dubbed the Shark.

The one-of-a-kind Excalibur was completely rebodied in flamboyant style out of Kevlar and fiberglass and fitted with enormous chrome wheels measuring 24 inches at the front and 30 at the rear. The interior was retrimmed in quilted cream leather and Alcantara and accented with more Swarovski crystals than a stripper's wet dream. Even the gearshifter and the joystick that controls the eight outside cameras feature enormous crystals. In other words, this is not a car for the faint of heart - or those possessing any measure of taste. If you disagree, though, RM has it up for auction in London later this month, where it is estimated to fetch £50,000-£80,000 ($80k-$128k).
