VW Brings CC R-Line to America

Want an even sportier-looking CC? Volkswagen of America has you covered with the new R-Line trim.

Walk the streets of most any German city and you're bound to see plenty of luxury automobiles that look like performance models, but aren't quite. We're talking about BMWs with M-Sport packs, Audis with S-Line kits, Mercedes in AMG Sport trim, and the latest the join the game: Volkswagen's R-Line. The thing is that most of the R-Line trims have not been brought over to the Western shores of the Atlantic. But that's changing with VW's announcement of the CC R-Line for the North American market.

The trim adds a more aggressive grille, foglamps, side skirts, 18-inch alloys and a smattering of special interior trim to the svelte, Passat-based four-door coupe. Intriguingly, Volkswagen of America isn't offering the R-Line package on the top-of-the-line VR6 4Motion model, only on the 2.0-liter turbo. It also includes R-Line door sill plates and RNS 315 sat-nav system, and when specified with the dual-clutch transmission, it also comes with paddle shifters behind the steering wheel - all for $32,195 (plus another $825 destination charge).
