Jeep Launches Grand Cherokee S-Limited in the UK

Jeep’s latest take on the Grand Cherokee combines the SRT8’s aggressive look with a more frugal V6 diesel unit.

While the SRT8 variant of the Grand Cherokee certainly looks the part, not everyone favors the 6.4-liter Hemi V8, especially across the pond where filling such a sizeable a tank with gas would cost as much as a night at the Ritz. So the Detroit automaker has sensibly rolled out a new version of the Grand Cherokee it has dubbed the S-Limited, combining a thrifty 237-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine with the SRT model's more aggressive looks.

Highlights of the exterior package include a black grille with chrome mesh insert, smoked headlamps, a black rear light bar and 20-inch gloss-black alloys. Inside, the S-Limited boasts a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, ventilated Nappa leather seats, aluminum pedal and real carbon-fiber trim on the dash and door panels. Standard equipment on the sporty-looking SUV includes a Quadra-Lift air suspension, Quadra-Trac II four-wheel-drive system, cross-path detection, blind spot monitoring, power tailgate and an 825-watt, 19-speaker Harman-Kardon sound system with three subwoofers.

"Styled and targeted to the important sports-line SUV sub-segment and with a high level of equipment on offer, the S-Limited is very attractively priced and positioned," says Jeep's UK brand director Nigel Land. "With its sporting look this new addition will complete the Grand Cherokee range while appealing to a whole new group of customers." The Jeep Grand Cherokee S-Limited will UK showrooms later this month priced at £44,595.
