Leno Meets 1963 Chrysler Turbine

The Denim Chin has been lusting after the Chrysler Turbine concept since he was 14, and finally gets his hands on one of the few that remain.

Whether its an old car or a new one, or even a motorcycle, you can bet that Jay Leno knows its history, even if he doesn't have one in his own collection. In this latest episode of "Jay Leno's Garage" we're treated to an encounter with a very rare beast indeed: the 1963 Chrysler Turbine, something our host has been lusting after since he was 14. Chrysler only made 55 Turbine prototypes, but 46 of them were destroyed once Chrysler terminated the project.

Powered by a JP-4 jet fuel engine, the car had a total of 130 horsepower and could hit 60 mph in 12 seconds. The episode comes complete with rare archive footage from the 1960s, along with Jay's traditional test drive.
