Published: Nov 15, 2012
Description: AMC had been in a decline for some time by the early Eighties, and the company needed a new big seller to bring in some fresh cash. But instead of doing that, they rebadged a French car. Thus the Rena...

Including the talon... The poor mans eclipse and sure if I had an interest in a talon and put money and time and work sure it might be nice. But I believe we are talking off the line and yes next to worthless
Nicolas Blake Mullen Nov 16, 2012
@byakka, so true. Haha
Byakka Hirakawa Nov 16, 2012

50 yards away. The highway was closed for hours. She was held responsible for the cost of the new landscaping, but insurance somehow covered the cost of the building. Eagle never paid a dime, nor issued one word of apology. Her next car was a Talon.
Benjamin McCormick Nov 16, 2012
She ran, and the car promptly exploded, Michael Bay-style, sending burning scraps into newly placed landscaping nearby, which subsequently caught fire and burned down the office building it surrounded. The metal rim of the steering wheel was found...

My sister had an Eagle Medallion that was less than 2 months old when she was driving along and smelled something burning, prompting her to pull over. When she exited the car, she noticed flames coming from the engine bay.

I know but I think the first gen is so much better looking
Colby Church Nov 15, 2012
The 97-98 Talon TSi is a pretty decent car for what it is. They can be made very fast if you have the interest in them.
Stephen Tyler Learn Nov 15, 2012
The talon is a decent car with some serious reliability problems. However if I found a first gen dsm with less than 100,000 miles I would buy it immediately
Aaron Crisp Nov 15, 2012
Excluding the talon.
Stephen Ishard Nov 15, 2012
Including the talon
David Parenti Nov 15, 2012
Rebadged Disasters: Eagle Premier (well pretty much anything Eagle, except the Talon). That title would've been too long.
Chris Gaines Nov 15, 2012
it's sad that cars in the 60s and 70s still look good today, but there's a giant hole in the timeline right where the 80s and 90's great cars should be... minus a few exceptions
David Parenti Nov 15, 2012
Keep in mind this was the 80's. how many cars from the 80's left a lasting impression in design? You can count on one hand how many cool cars came out of the 80's. people didn't love this car, they lived the price. Same for a yugo
Chris Gaines Nov 15, 2012
who looked at this and said, "yea, people will love this!" ????
Kyle Rawn Nov 15, 2012
Exactly. This is what comes to mind when I think of old sedans.
Donte Perino Nov 15, 2012
Kinda generic.
Colby Church Nov 15, 2012
My thoughts exactly without even reading your comment. Lol

My God this thing is Fugly!

Welcome to every 1980's car interior ever made. Enjoy your sea of dull gray material and gauges that may or may not be accurate depending on what day it is.
Adam Beiersdorfer Nov 15, 2012
Junk for interiors.... Boring exteriors... And some of the worst engines/mechanical designs... We had a old Topaz GS... It's air conditioner hose ran right over the engine head... Melted every summer... Reminds me of this mess
Adam Beiersdorfer Nov 15, 2012
This is one of the many examples as to why no one really enjoyed theirs cars from this decade... Just j

Dale Schroeder Nov 16, 2012
Did they just attach wires and hoses to the engine at random and decide that was good? What a mess!

I love the DS3, especially the racing version.
Luis Daniel Angilello Nov 15, 2012
They went as far as offering the car with custom rust job to be able to sell it. Truly, rust was the least of your concerns with this car
