Tweed Edition Land Rover Defender

Afzal Kahn’s latest take on the Defender features a body kit, new alloys and an interior trimmed with Harris Tweed.

Land Rover's utility truck offers little in the way of creature comforts. Its rugged, no-nonsense character is what makes it so appealing. A. Kahn Design however, has come up with a another solution for those that want to look macho while sitting in consummate luxury. Its Defender Concept 17 Wide Body Harris Tweed Prototype, to give it its full name, gets typically stylish exterior components and wheels, as well as an interior with Harris Tweed inserts, the only fabric in the world governed by its own Act of Parliament.

The "champagne of fabrics" is handwoven by islanders based in Scotland's Outer Hebrides using local pure virgin wool. Each piece of tweed can be traced back to the individual home weaver. The Kahn Defender gets a brand new wide track arch kit, consisting of extended wide wing wheel arches with integrated vents, a stainless-steel front grille, vented headlight surrounds, side and hood vents with mesh inserts, clear front and rear light lenses, clear side repeaters, LED headlights, wing blades, Kahn tailgate badges and a branded rear wheel cover. Completing the exterior transformation is a set of 18-inch 1983 Defender wheels.

The bespoke interior also boasts a red rev counter, paino-black wood center dash surround, red seat belts, machined aluminum pedals, and front and rear racing seats in black quilted leather with Harris Tweed inserts, while Nappa leather and grey Alcantara with red and silver contrast stitching adorns the the cabin.
