the front looks like a flattened 360, the cabin (roof and windscreen + side windows) looks like a bad drawing of a Lancia Stratos and the rear looks like a need for speed Enzo.
I can see this being built to lookalike that....30 years ago??? But not today :(

I like the way the P1 looks. but I still find the MP4-fax machine too boring looking.
@JB The P1 wasn't really a "looks" type of design. They talked about it being 30% for looks/style and 70% for aerodynamics. It was designed in a wind tunnel to do one thing; go fast.
A McLaren will never be a Ferrari for someone that actually loves Ferrari...
I've always liked Mclaren a lot and appreciated the company. The P1 is a dramatic design, no doubt, but one I've fallen in love with already. I love how the taillights are a thin strip running along the back, it's so innovative and different.
@JB While what you said is true, Ferrari has beer blown me out of the water with their designs, and I have seen parts of the test mules for this, so I can already tell I like the P1 better. And some may not like the P1, but I find it to be gorgeous.
To be honest I wasn't crazy about the P1's styling. Im however very excited to see what Ferrari does as they always tend to set the benchmark when they come out with a new flagship model.

Actually I think the hybrid system is not used in supercars to improve fuel efficiency, who cares how much gas an Enzo replacement uses? The electric engine delivers massive torque to compensate the lower low rev torque of a non turbo engine.
And yeah the Enzo was known as the F60 but Ferrari loved the car so much that they named it under the founder
Take that hybrid shit off? Really? It's giving the car an extra 100-150 bhp. It acts as a turbocharger
Well, some may, but I have never heard any mention of an association between the F60 name and the Enzo, and if it was designated for a race car, then they kind of messed up the rhythm considering the F40 and F50 are production vehicles.
That "hybrid shit" is Kinetic and is the same tech that they use on formula 1 cars.
They used the f60 designation on a formula one car. And a lot of people call the Enzo the f60 too.

The people who make these have no idea what Ferrari does in terms of styling.

A Ferrari will never be mistaken for a Ford, call it whatever you want.
Dale: the car Ferrari initially named (but later had to change the name) F-150 wasn't a supercar, it was their F1-racer. That was what Topgear thought was funny and a little ridicoulus (noone will ever mistake the one for the other).
Yeah its like the mclarent P1, its the sucessor to the F1 but its not the same car so not the same name
@owen the ford gt wasn't a successor to the mustang tho. It was a successor tithe gt40 which it shares a similar name with.
@Colby they won't call it the Enzo because it would deface the current Enzo and probably lower it's value. Also, this is not an updated Enzo. This is a new car. It's just like How Ford didn't call the Ford GT a Ford Mustang... Cuz its not.
They did get in trouble for using F-150 name. Top gear made some jokes about the difference between a large pick up and a supercar. But they aren't allowed to use the name
Agree, F150 is a horrible name, and I have a feeling Ford will have it trademarked if they haven't already.

I hope they call it Pininfarina. One of the greatest car designers died this last summer and naming the car after him would be a well deserved tribute to a great man. RIP Sergio Pininfarina
Chevy did not make the GTO, Owen. It was clearly Pontiac. And Mr. Delorean himself noted that he got the name from The 250 GTO. So he did give recognition.

@Nick Yeaahhh, well this was a "Ferrari" design challenge, not a "Lotus" design challenge. And this is clearly a failed design, idc what it looks like, it is a far cry from something Ferrari would actually build and put their name on.

Bring the rear window back the the back of the car, and raise the hood an inch or two, and It'll be perfect.
All these designs are very aspirational, they make me think I could also be a car designer!!! :-)

I see the Pagani in here, but I doubt it was intentional. Often when I'm designing a car, I have to change certain elements throughout because I realize that they look like another car. Common mistake.

This is actually decent, it just needs nicer headlights in a different location. Put some aggressive angular headlights lower down and we've got a winner.
