Description: We often think of the Porsche 959 and the Ferrari F40 as hugely significant cars, and indeed they were, enough that we already covered them months ago in other series. But these cars cast such a big s...

classic design.... the coka cola bottle of cars.... soo sexy... still looks awesome by todays standards. had this car on my wall as a kid, if this car was a woman, it would be Marilyn Monroe.
Kyle Kloewer Nov 25, 2012
Oooh the F40 int back
Michael Kagan Nov 25, 2012
One of my favorite cars of all time, wanted when it was new still want one.
Jorge Gonzalez Nov 25, 2012
Looks good.
Jonathan Gomez Nov 25, 2012
I don't care what anybody says the f50 is still my favorite
Andrew Garcia Nov 24, 2012
A classic. And such a fantastic car!
Jommel Marcella Nov 24, 2012
One of my top ten.

Thibault Leroy Nov 24, 2012
You can tell this appart from the 308 but you cant deny that the two look alot similar
Dimitry Mikhailovich Malikov Nov 24, 2012
One of my favorite Ferraris!
Jacob Burford Nov 24, 2012
Love this car! One of the all time greats!
Derrick McCarthy Nov 24, 2012
It's beautiful, but I can't take my eye off the f40 behind it lol. Pretty much the story of this cars life.. As the article said. Seriously tho idk about the most beautiful car ever but this def deserves its props for looks and performance/technology
David Guerrero Nov 24, 2012
Colby no said anything about your favorites. We all know you would sacrifice you first child for a C7. We all know you close minded.
Tim Puckett Nov 24, 2012
This is definitely on my list of best looling cars along with the 63 vette coupe, miura, countach, 70cgevelle and 71 cuda 426
Tin Nguyen Nov 24, 2012
@colby, it's far from your fav doesn't mean it can't be someone else's fav.
Tin Nguyen Nov 24, 2012
This has to be my fav of all time. They only made 272 of these. If you can't tell this from a 308 then you don't know anything.
Colby Church Nov 24, 2012
Whoaa. Adenis and Carlton, what are you guys smoking, it's a nice car and all, but did it slip something in yall's drinks? Far from one of my favorites, but to each his own.
Adenis KalashNikov Ruci Nov 24, 2012
No competition. One of the best looking cars of all time.
Tobias Mersinger Nov 24, 2012
I agree with the 2nd part of your comment, Carlton, but not the first. 300SL, E-Type, DeTomaso Pantera...
Tyler Tarbox Nov 24, 2012
Big difference between this and a 308
Carlton Salmon Nov 24, 2012
IMO the most beautiful car in the world and the ONLY Ferrari I'd ever wish to own.
Dennis Choong Nov 24, 2012
One of Ferrari greats
Cho Dan Nov 24, 2012
If you can't see the difference between the 288 and 308 you don't your Ferraris.
John M Weishahn Nov 24, 2012
Maybe because it was indistinguishable from the 308.
António Villas-Boas Nov 24, 2012
A benchmarking car often forgotten...
Derrick McCarthy Nov 24, 2012
Oh my from the rear... I can almost say with certainty that I haven't seen or heard of these till now. And starting to understand people saying its one of the best looking Ferraris out there.
Cory Allen Nov 24, 2012
I LOVE. the simple round tail lights.
Tin Nguyen Nov 24, 2012
One of the sexiest rear.
Michael Montefusco Nov 24, 2012
Holy swirl marks batman. This car is in desperate need of a polish/color correction and a nice dose of opti-coat. Beautiful car other wise!
Owen Tiernan Nov 24, 2012
For me it's the way the rear fender curves around the wheel and engine housing of the car and leads up into the lip spoiler. It's one of the best looking cars ever made. I remember having a metal scale model of it when I was a kid and just staring.

No ridge your wrong, like jorgen said its for group B circuit racing
Jörgen Nilsson Nov 25, 2012
Of course it was for group B racing, not rally.
Redge Diakité Nov 25, 2012
William you're wrong it was for the Rally Group B ;)
William Downs Nov 25, 2012
Group B is rally racing, this was for circuit racing
Jörgen Nilsson Nov 25, 2012
Dennis: it is for me too, the Dino is one of my all time favourites (as is the 288 GTO). But still no real Ferrari.
David Gray Nov 25, 2012
Jorgen is right, the Dino isn't a Ferrari
Dennis Choong Nov 25, 2012
@jorgen- Dino was commissioned by Enzo, designed by Pinnifarina, built by Scaglietti in Maranello. Though it has a Fiat V6, it's Ferrari enough for me
Andrew Potter Nov 25, 2012
Btw there's a great review of the car on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kr1ECmnEo0
Andrew Potter Nov 25, 2012
This is with no questions the most beautiful car ever designed. I would sell all my teeth to have one. Even today, there isn't another car that has the poise, drama and beauty.
Jörgen Nilsson Nov 25, 2012
Dennis: the Dino was absolutely beautiful, but it wasn't a Ferrari...
William Downs Nov 25, 2012
No austin, I don't find them to good looking either, and I would take a 599gto over this also, but wouldn't mind driving one of these, heard they sound crazy
Dennis Choong Nov 24, 2012
Personally, my vote for the best looking Ferrari goes to the Dino. 288GTO is a close 2nd
Jörgen Nilsson Nov 24, 2012
Beautiful. The first production car to break 300 km/h.
Thibault Leroy Nov 24, 2012
Yes you are
Austin Bride Nov 24, 2012
Am I the only one who doesn't like the 458?
Dimitry Mikhailovich Malikov Nov 24, 2012
Beautiful!
Derrick McCarthy Nov 24, 2012
The more I look the more I see where the f40 came from.
Devin Babyn Nov 24, 2012
I would definitely take a 599 GTO over this. They're bloody gorgeous cars. Pretty sure it's my favourite Ferrari
Tin Nguyen Nov 24, 2012
Believe it or not this is Ferrari's first ever super car. There was one up for auction years ago (maybe 8 or 9) and it went over $750k. I'm sure if one is up for sale it would be well above the 7 figure mark.
Tim Puckett Nov 24, 2012
@colby I agree some 5 spokes woul be nice
Tin Nguyen Nov 24, 2012
I would definitely take this over the 599gto.
Colby Church Nov 24, 2012
*spokes
Colby Church Nov 24, 2012
Change those ugly ass wheels. Some black five spikes would be nice
Rohil Chauhan Nov 24, 2012
One if the best cars of all time. The 599 gto doesn't deserve to be in this category.
Janak Solanki Nov 24, 2012
What a classic. It had the Coke bottle proportions, that's why it looked so good.
Dale Fredriks Nov 24, 2012
People are going to hate me for this, but I think this and the 575 are the greatest looking Ferrari's ever.
David Gray Nov 24, 2012
Such a good looking car
Preston Ming Nov 24, 2012
I wouldn't say "ever"..but it is forgotten amongst the likes of the Enzo, 458, F40, F50, Testarossa, and 265. I'd rank this right about number 3 on the list..even to this day this car kills it on the looks dept
Carlton Salmon Nov 24, 2012
I totally agree with you there, Cho.
Cho Dan Nov 24, 2012
The most beautiful Ferrari ever!
Jorge Gonzalez Nov 25, 2012
@Colby, your trippin dude in the last few slides you said that dudes where smokin some shit for saying it's beautiful and now you like it? Stay consistent man.
Jommel Marcella Nov 24, 2012
His iPhone. Lol
Dimitry Mikhailovich Malikov Nov 24, 2012

The 288 GTO Evo... What a car!!
Devin Babyn Nov 25, 2012
If you would of said that yesterday you would of got so much hate
Skylar Drake Nov 25, 2012
Driving purists... Lmfao. Sure everybody loves a stick shift as a kid, but if we can go faster with something different we'll buy it instead. If CVT's were faster, than Formula 1 would change the run them. Time's change, let the manual die if need be
Walter Robinson Nov 24, 2012
Well you can get an r8 with a gated shifter. And the (sadly) dead murcielago had one as an option too.
Justin Routh Nov 24, 2012
@Jay that doesnt matter. Driving purists will still buy the manual every time even if it means .2 of their 0-60. Its worth it for the better experience
Thibault Leroy Nov 24, 2012
Great interior
Devin Babyn Nov 24, 2012
GATED SHIFTER!!!!! I wish company's would still make them
Janak Solanki Nov 24, 2012
Looks awsome still for today.
Jay Kolvenbag Nov 24, 2012
@justin they are just doing everything to make cars faster
Justin Routh Nov 24, 2012
Back when ferrari used a real transmission. Its a shame they stopped
Owen Tiernan Nov 24, 2012
There is nothing about the GTO that is an eye sore.
Jörgen Nilsson Nov 25, 2012
I don't think the service costs was of high importance designing this car. Possibly you take the engine out when service is done, or take the body off.
William Downs Nov 25, 2012
Astro vans are mad easy to work on, this just looks like there is no room to work
Lee Gardner Nov 24, 2012

Holey hell they've ruined it
Tyler Tarbox Nov 25, 2012
Hey Ben lets chill out there. I think this car looks awful. Too much for you? Sorry
Devin Babyn Nov 24, 2012
Ben do you know what R.I.C.E. stands for?
Ben August Nov 24, 2012
Tyler: "ricer 288" What's rice about it? It has functional aerodynamic body parts, like all race cars have. "Evo" implies that it isn't even street legal. You think aerodynamics imply rice? Sad.
Nevzat Erboy Nov 24, 2012
Isn't this what f40 came from. This car was incredible if little ugly
Read Mills Nov 24, 2012
Yes, it is a 288 GTO Evo! An incredible car!
Tyler Tarbox Nov 24, 2012
I mean 288. No idea why I said 308 haha
Tyler Tarbox Nov 24, 2012
What in the world is this??? A ricer 308.
Owen Tiernan Nov 24, 2012
It's the 288 GTO Evoluzione.

Anthony Bartolone Nov 25, 2012
I would say 599 as well. California is blasphemy really. joking sorta. That dino, thanks Chris, is sooooo nice though.
Tim Puckett Nov 24, 2012
@lee looks like some kind of custom/ satin or matte black 590
Lee Gardner Nov 24, 2012
What's on the far right way back
Chris Huff Nov 24, 2012
Yes that is a dino and behind it is the calinfornia
Anthony Bartolone Nov 24, 2012
I could be wrong but that gorgeous red car in the background is a Dino right?
