Comments - Ford Reveals Fiesta ST Hot Hatch

Published: Nov 27, 2012
Description: Let's be honest here: Americans will never be fans of hatchbacks the way Europeans are. That's okay, because there are many other great cars to choose from in the US market, but when it come...

Ha guys go on google and find them for free!
John Serely Nov 27, 2012
@patrick By me, questions go for around $7, but you can usually haggle it down to $4
Jacob Viiper McCord Nov 27, 2012
$5 a question? that's a bit high dont you think?
Patrick Schalk Nov 27, 2012
Questions are usually about 5 dollars
Matt Piccolo Nov 27, 2012
How much is the question?
Sebastian Grey Nov 27, 2012
I love hatches... with all my heart.
Walter Alexander Thomas Nov 28, 2012
Love it
Adam Ramey Nov 27, 2012
Looks like they tried to make the front from a focus ST onto a fiesta.
Brendan Bell Nov 27, 2012
Looks good. First fiesta I've liked
Terrance Parker Nov 27, 2012
It's a little small for a fully grown man like myself but, Danm a few years back I would have loved to have a fun little car like this.
Cory Allen Nov 27, 2012
Remove 2 doors.
Harrison Trapnell Nov 27, 2012
Please Ford, you have already made the Focus ST and Fiesta ST look terrible, please make the Focus RS look good!
Edgar Jauregui Nov 27, 2012
the new aston martin fiesta
Jesse Williams Nov 27, 2012
This actually looks sharp!
Joe Talerico Nov 27, 2012
Guppy mouth!
Sivert Grande Nov 27, 2012
*the old front end
Sivert Grande Nov 27, 2012
The regular front end looks a lot better than this.
Shelby Cassandra Nov 27, 2012
It is ok. I'd still want a rally spec fiesta, but I could settle with one of these.
Sam Oglesby Nov 27, 2012
I still don't like the front end if the current fiesta front end fits I may get one
Description: The Fiesta ST packs a 1.6-liter EcoBoost turbo four with an output of 197 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. For comparison's sake, Ford points out that a Mini Cooper S has 181 hp and 177 lb-ft....

@Brady, Surely your joking... Most rally cars don't have much more than 200hp and that's fun as heck to watch.
Brady Jacoby Dec 16, 2012
RS stands for rally sport, not super sport. So how can they compare a GT spec to an RS spec, the Sonic obviously isn't made for power. Racing 175hp cars is like watching senior olympics....
Judah Lindvall Nov 29, 2012
Hey guys who are comparing this to a WRX, this a different category. Way cheeper! I mean I'd rather have Aventador than a WRX just saying :)
Hans Clement Nov 28, 2012
LOL my moms Base model Pontiac vibe has more horsepower than the sonic rs
Lou Guerrero Nov 27, 2012
'Bout time we get some cool new toys.
David Guerrero Nov 27, 2012
Much rather have a wrx any day, but I can settle with one of these
Brian Johnston Nov 27, 2012
This thing is going to be slow as balls. A civic si will be the only thing raceing it on the street.....make something over 300hp and then well talk. (Sti)
Jacob Burford Nov 27, 2012
I love a good fast hatchback! This should be great!
Daniel Eads Nov 27, 2012
This should be a good bit cheaper then the focus. I would have a hard time choosing between them.
David Parenti Nov 27, 2012
@jb, look up the curb weight of each vehicle. Ford says the Fiesta weighs around 2600 lbs, and the Focus weighing in at around 2800+
JB Kolod Nov 27, 2012
How do you guys know the focus only weighs 100-200 pounds more? The regular fiesta is a total featherweight.
Gonzalo Coto Nov 27, 2012
197hp ford fiesta st now just imagine if it had 212hp
Jerrod Swenson Nov 27, 2012
http://m.carsoup.com/VehicleDetails.aspx?uvid=22259253
Jerrod Swenson Nov 27, 2012
I used Carsoup and found 3 for $26.000, one for $27.000 and one for $28.000. 0ne said you had to sign up for the price but they said it was under $26.000
Patrick Schalk Nov 27, 2012
Pretty solid numbers. Would rather have a GTI or WRX hatch or even a Mazda 3.
David Parenti Nov 27, 2012
@james MFG suggested retail price. By the time it hits the dealer the price has gone up, way up
James Schramko Nov 27, 2012
Good luck getting a Focus ST for 23k...lol
David Parenti Nov 27, 2012
@jerrod, I'd have to go with the Focus then. More for the same price.
David Parenti Nov 27, 2012
I'm happy with what I drive now. I was just comparing price. Besides I'd rather buy a new car than a used one for the same price. Unless it had ridiculous low miles which a 20 grand Mercedes doesn't have.
Jerrod Swenson Nov 27, 2012
Fiesta ST is predicted to be a bit over $23.000 when it comes out matching prices of the Focus ST already out.
David Parenti Nov 27, 2012
@ Erich. The Focus ST I was looking at Saturday was 29,000 before dealer markup.
David Parenti Nov 27, 2012
Because I had a rental fiesta for a week and someone my height can't get comfortable in that car. I've driven a focus too and they are definitely more comfortable to me.
David Parenti Nov 27, 2012
It only weighs about 100-200 lbs less than the Focus ST, and has about 70 less HP, same with torque. The only way is buy the Fiesta ST over the Focus ST is if it costs significantly less.
Description: There's also a unique suspension system that helps deliver a quicker steering ratio and an electronic Torque Vectoring Control system that reduces understeer on hard turns. Drivers can also selec...

Revo Knuckle
Stas Allen Nov 28, 2012
If Aston Martin made a 5 door hatch, it would look something like this. And that's a good thing.
Jon Ashley Nov 27, 2012
Ford needs to do something about that front grill situation.
John M Weishahn Nov 27, 2012
I've had my GTI out on plenty of track days and embarrassed much more expensive and exotic cars. It's all about your skill level. If your car is not performing at an exciting level, improve your driving.
Raschard Jackson Nov 27, 2012
Lol I don't really care. And yeah I just saw that someone is named Rockesh. My bad..
Daniel Eads Nov 27, 2012
Wow strike two. Doesn't seem like anyone can spell your name Rascherd.
Raschard Jackson Nov 27, 2012
Is "Rockesh" supposed to be my name?
Raschard Jackson Nov 27, 2012
Look Phaidon nobody is telling you to stop using the app. Just read up on your stuff before making comments. That's all kiddo :)
David Parenti Nov 27, 2012
Wish I had a smartphone and didn't have to do sh!t but play video games when I was 12.
Phaidon Chrisostalis Nov 27, 2012
I mean can't ****
Phaidon Chrisostalis Nov 27, 2012
ok sorry, i said some wrong things. I don't know so many things about cars as you do. I don't even know how to speak good english because I'm from greece. I can express myself tha good. When I said FWD cars aren't that fun I said because i thougth most of them understeer a lot. Just calm down and show some understanding
Raschard Jackson Nov 27, 2012
About the car... Rather take a focus!
Raschard Jackson Nov 27, 2012
You 'Think' you know about cars from playing video games. But hey... The interest has to start somewhere!
Raschard Jackson Nov 27, 2012
Forza > GT5 anyway.. Lol IMO though!! Don't hurt me GT5 people! But yeah, if you only like cars because of a video game, this isn't the app for you. I mean if you are an all around car enthusiast then yes, it is, but don't make comments just because
Rockesh Boulder Nov 27, 2012
@Phaidon I am 12 and I know a lot about cars. Dont use your age as an excuse
Kyle McCullough Nov 27, 2012
1. Don't talk if you don't know 2. Drifting in a video game has nothing to with buying a real car
Phaidon Chrisostalis Nov 27, 2012
Sorry, i am 12 years old. I don't know so many things about cars. Fun for me is drifting cars in gran turismo...
Frankie Ferreira Nov 27, 2012
Not for me? How the shizz do u know? -_-
Phaidon Chrisostalis Nov 27, 2012
I agree they are more economical and better for everyday use. But if you are looking for something fun and excting, hatchbacks are not for you. The only hatchback I like is the m135i because it is RWD
Tim Puckett Nov 27, 2012
And that's what we call ignorance! :P
Phaidon Chrisostalis Nov 27, 2012
Just buy a focus st if u want a hot hatch or a golf gti. In my opinion hatchbacks like rs3 m135i and A-class 45 amg haven't got any point. If you want power buy a coupe not a hatchback
Kyle Rawn Nov 27, 2012
Thanks I wasn't quite sure what it was.
Phaidon Chrisostalis Nov 27, 2012
Fiesta

Cindy Ngo Jan 11, 2013
Fiesta ST Look's Like his big brother the Focus ST
Ben Hislop Nov 28, 2012
I like it
Gonzalo Coto Nov 27, 2012
Ford Racing needs to build parts for the fiesta st to give it more power!
Raschard Jackson Nov 27, 2012
Oh it isn't!? Lol wow I looked at it quick and thought it had that, but they were just painted black. Yeah that's stupid.. They should have the central exhaust.
Shelby Cassandra Nov 27, 2012
Agreed.
Joel Hayes Nov 27, 2012
Anyone else think that this Is just begging for the central exhaust that the Focus ST has?
Quinn Conner Nov 28, 2012
Now the interior if that kip rio is actually quite good. It looks more European styled then anything. This fiesta looks like an older focus quality. It does look cheap.
Quinn Conner Nov 28, 2012
Kia has really upped thier game. Don't be stuck in old times. Put it this way, the rio is the closest comparison. Of course there isn't a top trim like this special fiesta but the kip rio's top trim is 18k. So we are already 10k under this fiesta
Walter Alexander Thomas Nov 28, 2012
Lol. Some said Kia makes better interiors I guess verses to ford. That is a lie. Not even a opinion. Ford interiors are way better than Kia.
Matthew Crighton Nov 27, 2012
Looks pretty tiny. Get rid of the back row and put sone leg room in there.
Matt Piccolo Nov 27, 2012
This isn't all about interior quality though, this is a hot hatch... No duh an optima will have a nicer interior, any mid-sized sedan does... If they didn't , that would b a problem lol
Stephen Wood Nov 27, 2012
Still not as good as the gti
Patrick Schalk Nov 27, 2012
Shelby, the Optima is better than this :P
Maria Garcia Nov 27, 2012
This reminds me more of a Hyundai than a Kia.
Shelby Cassandra Nov 27, 2012
It is much nicer than anything Kia puts out.
Phaidon Chrisostalis Nov 27, 2012
This reminds me of a kia
Wyatt Ortega Nov 28, 2012
Looks good I think it will sell just fine in the us
Shelby Cassandra Nov 27, 2012
@Brian. It is an economy car. It is a cheap family car that happens to be faster than most of its competition. Quit bitching because it is probably nicer than your car.
Brian Johnston Nov 27, 2012
197hp isnt impressive in any car. Well maybe a home made go cart.
Devin Babyn Nov 27, 2012
They'll probably use the the 2.0 block but I'm guessing it'll end up between 2.2-2.5, with more boost
Daniel Eads Nov 27, 2012
They'll probably go with the 2.0 ecoboost with one or two turbos for the stang.
Stephen Ishard Nov 27, 2012
Isn't the economist a twin turbo in the mustang though
Greg Kenerly Nov 27, 2012
I think the seats are awesome. But I think that, as a 28 year old man, I'd look less foolish in a Mini S. PS. I hope this isn't the ecoboost they put in the 2014 Mustang. 197hp is impressive for a Fiesta, but not for the Stang.
