I think a 9 speed transmission is too much. There is so much shifting involved which puts a lot of stress on torque converters and clutches and when they start to get old, it would be a pain in the ass dealing with slipping and hard shifting
I think that exact amount of hp n torque is great for europe and the 8 speed is boss 200+ hp is perfect for those small roads and 400+ torq to get you up those hills :)
German cars from the same displacement get more than 50 ho more than this.

The 8 speed is needed. The wife has an overland with the 5.7, great vehicle, probably the best SUV in the size segment but the 5 speed is archaic. Not sure I would get the diesel either, the 490 lb/ft is bad ass. Ours has a MagnaFlow cat back.
Also @Car Buzz I have a Cherokee withe the v6 and with the amazing cylinder deactivation, it gets 17-18 around town and 20-22 hwy. My father also has the new v8 durango and it gets 13-14 city 17-20 hwy
@Car Buzzer the only time you use the word EV or Hybrid in the same sentence as Jeep is when the sentence is a Jeep will never be an EV or a Hybrid.
Chrysler can't afford to completely re-engineer every new generation from the ground up, but they're doing a good job staying relevant. Look at the current Charger/300c, it's built on the Mercedes w211 platform that was designed in 1993.
This is a Mercedes ML platform, built in Detroit, with a choice of Fiat or Mopar power. The only thing "American" about this vehicle is the where it is manufactured unless you get it with a hemi. It's a great vehicle for the money though.
Stupid arguing on the Corvette article kept me from seeing this. Anyways, the new thin headlights look good to me but I'm not so sure about the grill.
Those "fins" (or whatever) under the headlights look odd, the current gen. looks great though.
Erich, then you obviously don't pay enough attention to what Chrysler or other big 3 companies have done with their lineup. Get yourself educated.

All car companies update their vehicles every 2-4 years, and sometimes sooner. You see many Mercedes or bmw's looking the same as they did three years ago?? NO you don't.
Erich It's called planned obsolescence. And it drives sales, which keeps profits up so they can develop new models. Please don't be an ass and say that this is the "epitome of American auto makers"!

Man I don't care how the outside looks, I drove one of them the other day, had the leather interior and all, have to say was pro ally the best ride I've had in a truck, felt extremely solid, was very smooth... wouldn't mind one if they weren't so much

I see it. My aunt had a 2001(I think) Sequoia and this rear definitely looks similar to it.
