Jack HowardNov 29, 2012 I think a 9 speed transmission is too much. There is so much shifting involved which puts a lot of stress on torque converters and clutches and when they start to get old, it would be a pain in the ass dealing with slipping and hard shifting
Amer TawilNov 28, 2012 I think that exact amount of hp n torque is great for europe and the 8 speed is boss 200+ hp is perfect for those small roads and 400+ torq to get you up those hills :)
Boyd BoudreauxNov 28, 2012 Thank god we bought a 13 that facelift seems to have went backwards
Kyle McCulloughNov 28, 2012 Lol at chad. You are right though, go chow on some gravel
Clay WilliamsNov 28, 2012 Yes! I've been saying for years that jeep needs to go diesel
Phaidon ChrisostalisNov 28, 2012 German cars from the same displacement get more than 50 ho more than this.
Dale McIntyreNov 28, 2012 I thought I read an article not long ago possibly in car and driver saying it would get a 9-speed?
Chad SchleyNov 28, 2012 The 8 speed is needed.
The wife has an overland with the 5.7, great vehicle, probably the best SUV in the size segment but the 5 speed is archaic.
Not sure I would get the diesel either, the 490 lb/ft is bad ass.
Ours has a MagnaFlow cat back.
Larry MartinoJan 12, 2013 Also @Car Buzz I have a Cherokee withe the v6 and with the amazing cylinder deactivation, it gets 17-18 around town and 20-22 hwy. My father also has the new v8 durango and it gets 13-14 city 17-20 hwy
Larry MartinoJan 12, 2013 @Car Buzzer the only time you use the word EV or Hybrid in the same sentence as Jeep is when the sentence is a Jeep will never be an EV or a Hybrid.
Ian RagsdaleNov 30, 2012 Chrysler can't afford to completely re-engineer every new generation from the ground up, but they're doing a good job staying relevant. Look at the current Charger/300c, it's built on the Mercedes w211 platform that was designed in 1993.
Ian RagsdaleNov 30, 2012 This is a Mercedes ML platform, built in Detroit, with a choice of Fiat or Mopar power. The only thing "American" about this vehicle is the where it is manufactured unless you get it with a hemi. It's a great vehicle for the money though.
Jordan SmithNov 29, 2012 Stupid arguing on the Corvette article kept me from seeing this. Anyways, the new thin headlights look good to me but I'm not so sure about the grill.
Zachary MaughanNov 29, 2012 Those "fins" (or whatever) under the headlights look odd, the current gen. looks great though.
Patrick SchalkNov 29, 2012 Erich, then you obviously don't pay enough attention to what Chrysler or other big 3 companies have done with their lineup. Get yourself educated.
Clay WilliamsNov 29, 2012 Car buzzer- please go away and never com back
Car BuzzerNov 29, 2012 I bet this big ol gas guzzler does 10 miles to the gallon. Come on jeep, where are the hybrids and EVs
Alex BouckleyNov 28, 2012 I'm not sure if I like it or not...
Clay WilliamsNov 28, 2012 I like the grill but the head lights should be about 1.5 inches bigger.
Chad SchleyNov 28, 2012 All car companies update their vehicles every 2-4 years, and sometimes sooner.
You see many Mercedes or bmw's looking the same as they did three years ago??
NO you don't.
Chad SchleyNov 28, 2012 Erich
It's called planned obsolescence.
And it drives sales, which keeps profits up so they can develop new models.
Please don't be an ass and say that this is the "epitome of American auto makers"!
Shaun ConroyNov 28, 2012 It looks like change for the sake of change. I'm not liking it, looks cheap.
William DownsNov 28, 2012 Man I don't care how the outside looks, I drove one of them the other day, had the leather interior and all, have to say was pro ally the best ride I've had in a truck, felt extremely solid, was very smooth... wouldn't mind one if they weren't so much
Matt PiccoloNov 28, 2012 I'm really not feeling this new look. The grill and headlights on the old model where much better
Joe TalericoNov 28, 2012 I'm wondering how the "Jeep guys" are gonna like those narrow headlights?
Patrick SchalkNov 28, 2012 I like the head lights on this better but I like the current grille better than this one.
Clay WilliamsNov 28, 2012 I don't know this is gonna have to grow on me.
