Jeep Reveals Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary

Special anniversary edition is billed as "the most capable Wrangler ever produced."

Renowned as one of the world's most challenging off-road trails and used by Jeep to test its products, the Rubicon Trail was attached to the Wrangler back in 2003. Ten years on, Jeep is celebrating the Wrangler Rubicon with a new limited-run 10th Anniversary Edition claimed to be the most capable Wrangler Jeep has ever produced, loaded with hardcore off-road equipment. The special edition is available as a two-door Wrangler or four-door Wrangler Unlimited and starts with the Rubicon trim.

The anniversary edition comes with a standard six-speed manual or five-speed automatic mated to a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 rated at 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. "As the most off-road capable Wrangler in history," Jeep notes, the Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition stands out in a variety of ways. Its a half-inch taller than the standard model, making room for meaty BF Goodrich tires mounted on 17-inch aluminum alloys painted in satin black and finished with a red Jeep Wrangler icon on the outside lip. Further distinguishing the special edition Rubicon is "10th Anniversary" badging on the fenders and red-silhouette decal on the sides of the hood.

Black steel off-road bumpers and red tow hooks add toughness to both ends of the exterior, with the front bumper featuring removable end caps and a winch-capable design helping the Wrangler better overcome obstacles. A dual-intake Power Dome helps make the Wrangler more menacing and keeps the engine cool, while Mopar rock rails provide added protection from trail damage. A Premium Sunrider soft top comes as standard, with the option of a three-piece Freedom hard top in black or body-colored. Exterior colors are limited to Billet Silver, White and an exclusive blue-green hue called Anvil.

The interior is finished in red leather with silver accents with red stitching adorning the leather-wrapped steering wheel and center console. A unique instrument cluster features a premium Electronic Vehicle Information Center, while "Rubicon 10th Anniversary" is embroidered into the front seats and features as a badge on the passenger grab handle. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition will go on sale in the Spring, with prices yet to be announced.
