Shane CarrollNov 05, 2012 An engine is nothing more than an air pump. The bigger the cylinder, the more air is able to be drawn in and compressed. There's a reason why top fuels run 800+cu in V8s instead of 302s
Shane CarrollNov 05, 2012 Also if you'll notice, cars with a higher hp to liter are almost always more expensive. Displacement is the easiest, cheapest and most reliable way to build power. Thats why you see 1000hp NA Big Blocks and 2000hp with twin turbos
Lou GuerreroNov 04, 2012 Haha never fails. Bench racing sucks. See these drivetrains at a track and judge from there. That's why World Challenge GTS class races great. NA, FI and V8s all mixing it up.
Justin RouthNov 04, 2012 Oh and LS engines usually weigh much less than their competitors.for example The GTR's engine is waaay heavier than the ones in the Z06 and ZR1. Just cuz theyve got alot of displacement doesnt mean theyre heavy. OHV is boss
Aaron CrispNov 04, 2012 What was it that Carroll Shelby said? Something like "Horsepower sells cars but torque wins races."
Tim PreisingerNov 04, 2012 I hate this argument... HP to liters doesn't mean anything..
Patrick SchalkNov 04, 2012 Paul I realize that. I'm saying some engines have more cams and valves depending on design. For example Fords 4.6 and LS motors. Different designs.
Justin RouthNov 04, 2012 @ellis youre also gonna have to throw on a twin turbo to reach the numbers of a NA V8. When you add the weight of two turbos, intercooler, piping its gonna add well over 100 lbs and you'll still never have that powerband the v8 will have ;)
Paul PattilloNov 04, 2012 Pushrod engines still have cams and valves. Haha
Patrick SchalkNov 04, 2012 Higher displacement means more torque. These Hemis are pushrod motors. Extremely simple and reliable. Yeah you can get more hp per liter if you start adding cams, valves, etc. But that's more parts to fail and replace.
Kyle RawnNov 04, 2012 Yeah it's easier to get a higher hp:liter ratio with smaller displacement engines. Plus many of the higher displacement aren't as tuned to get an awesome ratio out of the factory.
Patrick SchalkNov 04, 2012 What bummer are you talking about? I'm so sick of this same damn conversation. I can't count how many times I've gotten myself into this
Kyle RawnNov 04, 2012 @ Ellis, ummm not really. Even the 6.2L W12 only makes 500hp. The 4.0L in the M3 only makes 414. So your argument is sorta invalid.
Patrick SchalkNov 04, 2012 Ellis we like torque. And they may be able to get that out of a small engine but it usually involves some kind of FI.
Aaron CrispNov 04, 2012 And to get the same performance as this, how much does that 4 liter cost?
Aaron CrispNov 04, 2012 @Ellis There is no proper replacement for displacement.
Author Norman R. ColsonNov 04, 2012 Lime green is a horrible color for a muscle car like this, dark green or candy paint green if you want to show off but c'mon!
Colby ChurchNov 04, 2012 The green and black look good together, in fact, one of my cars, a 1999 Eclipse has a black and Lime green paint scheme, and it's pretty sick. The white throws it off too much, it needs to go. Maybe some flat black there or something.
Lou GuerreroNov 04, 2012 Better be fast because it looks like an entire daycare puked on a Chally with shitty doors.
Clay WilliamsNov 04, 2012 I love the challenger but this is bad. The people who make these mods need to realize that car company's spend millions of $s developing the look of these cars and that all they do is cheapen the look. I think mods should stick to engines but...

Author Norman R. ColsonNov 05, 2012 Yeah awfully loaded challenger is at least 26-30k plus. It's a rough economy and gas is no joke plus insurance. Lol, don't get me started. Besides if you can't get a v8, the v6 model just as nice.
Greg LewisNov 05, 2012 The 305hp v6 is for us who can't afford a 50k, 400 monthly insurance. I'm glad dodge did something for the "little" guy. I have a 2011 rallye and use it about 2kmiles monthly, I would be driving a civic if it wasn't for a decent mpg and cheap one.
Clay WilliamsNov 04, 2012 See this is good because they didn't really change the body.
Connor ScanlonNov 04, 2012 This ones classy. It doesn't have all those hideous graphics, instead little details that go a far way.

Tyler Ray DeFordNov 04, 2012 If your name is Ellis you should not be allowed to critique muscle cars. That's a job for Bud and Mike and Rick.
Shawn SullivanNov 04, 2012 Ellis, how is this gaudy and over the top?! Yes that sticker is lame but likely a financial backer requirement I assume. Stop being such a dick critic.
Jeff Dunhams purple Chally should've been in here. That thing is nasty.
