Incidentally, Mercedes did not create the "4-door coupe" designation.It's been done before.The Rover P5 (low roof model), Infiniti J30, Toyota had a model in the 80's (can't recall which one) & even the Saturn Ion had a (technically) 4 door coupe.
I agree with Jose and James for the most part. Is this nice? Yes. Better than most? Yes. But it looks so bland compared to others and too similar to other BMWs. It just doesn't pop or get my attention that much. I wouldn't look twice at it.
The best 4 door car no question. I definitely prefer this to the CLS, A7, Panamera etc.

The window doesn't go past the rear door on my 94 civic sedan. Does that make it a coupe too? 4 door coupes are kind of ridiculous
If the rear window doesn't go past the rear door, it's considered a coupe if It has four doors, which explains the roof line in the a7 and cls and now this.

It's going to be very difficult to tell the difference between the two of them. It looks like what the 5 series should look like.

That 560hp rating is cute but the m5's put down 500whp, these are more like 580hp at a minimum, especially considering they have autos. I guess modern autos are just much less parasitic or BMW underrated these mills, either way they haul ass
Nothing wrong with hydraulic... at all. And 4.2 is pretty quick for this thing's size.

Yea they gave the M5 hydraulic also. And i know it depends on conditions but u think motor trend or road and track clocked it at 3.9 sec for the M5
Brad they have with the 3 and 5 if I remember correctly and there's some negative feedback from electric steering lacks the road feel of hydraulic so I'm not sure if that's why or not

Keep the same exterior dimension of the exhaust buttress but just open the inner cutaway slightly to stuff slightly bigger exhaust tips and it'd be perfect IMO

The center spoke of the wheel is actually fine, the alluminum trim bezel just lies to the eye.
I'd appreciate a flat bottom steering wheel with thicker mid spoke, and maybe a little softening of the center stack but all in all bmw's have great interiors
dang I was loving this then u pointed out the steering wheel and now that's all I see! it does look oversized...like a boat wheel
I love everything about this car except how firm the lesser models ride. I could only imagine how uncomfortable this one will end up being.
