Comments - BMW Officially Reveals M6 Gran Coupe

Published: Dec 13, 2012
Description: This hasn't exactly come out of left field. BMW has done little to hide the fact a new M car was imminent and after a string of poorly disguised prototypes and teaser shots, (leaked or otherwise)...

Das auto haha
Justin Routh Dec 14, 2012
No actually you did... This the cls and s7 are 4 door coupes. They take the coupe and add two doors while keeping the look
Ryan Sansossio Dec 14, 2012
Coupe...4door....what? Somethings wrong here. Is it bmw or carbuzz that fucked up cuz someone did
Alex Renaud Dec 14, 2012
A four door coupe? No such thing even exists!
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
Cls55's with bolt ons and 20's on nt05's, flat white, black roof, wheels, red calipers. 5% all around. Nice little 10 second luxury cruiser
Aiman Haziq Dec 14, 2012
I agree too!
Colby Church Dec 13, 2012
I agree.
Victor Pitts Dec 13, 2012
CLS all the way.
Joe Lamouk Dec 16, 2012
Yeah, a 6 or 7 years old one probably. I'm sure you'll enjoy the maintenance costs.
Author Norman R. Colson Dec 14, 2012
Wait this car is over 100k wtf!? I can get a bently for half that!!!
Timothy Hooker Dec 14, 2012
is it nice? yes...worth over 100k...no way
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
It's pretty well done, the cls55's take my vote though followed by the cls63's
Kaine Bingham Dec 14, 2012
=( I was wrong.. I failed you. Yeah it's fixed roof or 33inch of cubic room in the back.
Kaine Bingham Dec 14, 2012
Eh.. Another bmw.. A nice one.. But... Boring. Btw the rx8 is a 4 door coupe. Coupe or sedan depends on the room you have In the front vs the back. Ratios.
Jag Love Dec 14, 2012
Incidentally, Mercedes did not create the "4-door coupe" designation. It's been done before. The Rover P5 (low roof model), Infiniti J30, Toyota had a model in the 80's (can't recall which one) & even the Saturn Ion had a (technically) 4 door coupe.
Jacob Burford Dec 13, 2012
Looks nice! Hard decision between this and the cls63 AMG!
Author Norman R. Colson Dec 13, 2012
And I don't buy German so that means something!
Author Norman R. Colson Dec 13, 2012
It's great looking car I want one!!!
Paul Dickey Dec 13, 2012
Cls all day
Colby Church Dec 13, 2012
I agree with Jose and James for the most part. Is this nice? Yes. Better than most? Yes. But it looks so bland compared to others and too similar to other BMWs. It just doesn't pop or get my attention that much. I wouldn't look twice at it.
Jose Gonzalez Dec 13, 2012
Agree! Just another lame BMW. They all pretty much look identical.
Rockesh Boulder Dec 13, 2012
What are you smoking? @James
James Salaba Dec 13, 2012
Another ugly bmw
Timothy Hooker Dec 13, 2012
I would def take an S7 over this..Audi's are so refined
Douglas Goncalves Dec 13, 2012
Very nice but I'd still prefer the CLS63. Just my personal opinion.
Mohammed Suhail Jamil Dec 13, 2012
The best 4 door car no question. I definitely prefer this to the CLS, A7, Panamera etc.
Cody Gillard Dec 13, 2012
Looks great in my opinion the rims are very nice
Tyler Tarbox Dec 13, 2012
Oh haha I thought you meant like people on here saying Coupe. But I think Gran Coupe just basically implies glorified coupe.
Stephen Tyler Learn Dec 13, 2012
It's a made up class of vehicle that Mercedes created with the cls a few years ago
Aislin Cooper Dec 13, 2012
The window doesn't go past the rear door on my 94 civic sedan. Does that make it a coupe too? 4 door coupes are kind of ridiculous
Chris Kuyumdzhyan Dec 13, 2012
If the rear window doesn't go past the rear door, it's considered a coupe if It has four doors, which explains the roof line in the a7 and cls and now this.
Nodnarb Ydil Dec 13, 2012
Coupe refers to the roof line does it not ? Not the number of doors ?
Stephen Tyler Learn Dec 13, 2012
Thank you Aaron
Aaron Crisp Dec 13, 2012
M6 Gran Coupe..... Coupe
Tyler Tarbox Dec 13, 2012
....nobody called it a coupe
Stephen Tyler Learn Dec 13, 2012
STOP CALLING 4 DOORS COUPES!
Peter Mark Gacek Dec 13, 2012
Love the CF roof
Tanton Stoneman Dec 13, 2012
Ultimate sex machine!
Tyler Tarbox Dec 13, 2012
Yeah I'm with Jared. This looks absolutely nothing like a 5 series. Did you mean difference between this and a normal 6 series?
Jared Oteri Dec 13, 2012
Sir, are you high?
A.J. Brady Dec 13, 2012
It's going to be very difficult to tell the difference between the two of them. It looks like what the 5 series should look like.
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
I'd say larger exhaust outlets would suit it better/toughen it up though
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
Pretty good at this angle too
Kittimasak Tantrakul Dec 14, 2012
Awesome car. He so handsome.
Colby Church Dec 13, 2012
I certainly prefer the back to the front.
Cody Gillard Dec 13, 2012
I have always liked that back end

Might get in trouble driving an m car on LSD. "What the hell were you doing driving so fast through traffic?" "Officer, I swear there is a swarm of angry assassins chasing me, look there's another one, hide me! I'm leaving, bye!!!"
Ryan Haverty Dec 13, 2012
I like where ur heads at Shelby! Btw with a name like that u gotta love cars, guess that explains why ur on here!
Shelby Cassandra Dec 13, 2012
Assuming you mean the differential and not drugs. But either way it would make it better. Lol.
Thibault Leroy Dec 13, 2012
Look at how long that first sentence is xD
Peter Mark Gacek Dec 13, 2012
My '02 M3 is horrible at getting the power down. In a good way.
Rohil Chauhan Dec 13, 2012
The biggest difference between an m car and a normal beema is the LSD. That's what makes the m versions so much fun to drive
Description: The V8 twin-turbo is also an engineering marvel, producing 10 percent more power and over 30 percent more torque than the preceding V10, making it the most powerful engine ever fitted in an M producti...

That 560hp rating is cute but the m5's put down 500whp, these are more like 580hp at a minimum, especially considering they have autos. I guess modern autos are just much less parasitic or BMW underrated these mills, either way they haul ass
Jake Trumbull Dec 13, 2012
Agreed
Colby Church Dec 13, 2012
Nothing wrong with hydraulic... at all. And 4.2 is pretty quick for this thing's size.
Daniel Eads Dec 13, 2012
It's because Germans understate how fast their cars can go. They do it with all cars.
Carlos Ernesto Garcia Dec 13, 2012
But I* think
Carlos Ernesto Garcia Dec 13, 2012
Yea they gave the M5 hydraulic also. And i know it depends on conditions but u think motor trend or road and track clocked it at 3.9 sec for the M5
Dylan Bruder Dec 13, 2012
Brad they have with the 3 and 5 if I remember correctly and there's some negative feedback from electric steering lacks the road feel of hydraulic so I'm not sure if that's why or not
Tyler Tarbox Dec 13, 2012
This thing would be fun to drive
Brad Henson Dec 13, 2012
Really hydraulic steering? Thought they would have switched to electric by now
Rafael Ridwan Dec 13, 2012
0.1 faster than m5!
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
Pretty clean
Author Norman R. Colson Dec 14, 2012
Halo lights... Nice
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
Keep the same exterior dimension of the exhaust buttress but just open the inner cutaway slightly to stuff slightly bigger exhaust tips and it'd be perfect IMO
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
Just slightly larger exhaust housings and exhaust tips, scale em both bigger like 20%

It is a great blue
Carlos Ernesto Garcia Dec 13, 2012
Ive seen these calipers in real life and the blue is not only original but also freeking awsome to look at :)
Brad Henson Dec 13, 2012
Gold calipers would look sweet with that sliver paint
Description: Final pricing has yet to be announced, but we expect it to be a few grand more than the regular two-door M6, so figure on somewhere in the region of $110k. Watch this space for live shots of the BMW M...

Das auto haha
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
Tune and test pipe for 100whp gain? I'd guesstimate that's about right. Should hit 195+ setup like that
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
The center spoke of the wheel is actually fine, the alluminum trim bezel just lies to the eye.
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
I'd appreciate a flat bottom steering wheel with thicker mid spoke, and maybe a little softening of the center stack but all in all bmw's have great interiors
Isaias Almanza Dec 14, 2012
I like how the design says "passenger don't touch! These are MINE!"
Jacob Burford Dec 13, 2012
Strange steering wheel! Rest is nice though!
Ryan Spencer Dec 13, 2012
This is real pertty...
Cody Gillard Dec 13, 2012
I like the steering wheel though
Timothy Hooker Dec 13, 2012
dang I was loving this then u pointed out the steering wheel and now that's all I see! it does look oversized...like a boat wheel
Ryan Parramore Dec 13, 2012
I love everything about this car except how firm the lesser models ride. I could only imagine how uncomfortable this one will end up being.
Thibault Leroy Dec 13, 2012
I think it would look better if it was a flat bottom steering wheel
Gazel Hebbert Dec 13, 2012
I personally love BMW interior styling over the other two German luxury heavyweights
Dimitry Mikhailovich Malikov Dec 13, 2012
Should it be square?
Janya Pulusu Dec 13, 2012
Except the steering wheel.... It doesn't go with the rest of the interior
Matt Piccolo Dec 13, 2012
Agreeed
Austin Sullivan Dec 13, 2012
Beautiful
Alex Arvanitis Dec 14, 2012
1. ttv8 2. Seats 3. Rest of the car
Colby Church Dec 13, 2012
....besides the twin turbo V8 that is. :)
Colby Church Dec 13, 2012
Best part of the car if you ask me.
Aiden Bass Dec 13, 2012
Stupid regulations...
Guo-Sheng Huang Dec 13, 2012
The seats look amazing
Hans Clement Dec 13, 2012
The only thing that isn't stylish in the car is the seatbelt
