I was really excited to see what they had in store but hell no, this is ugly. It is obvious that Ford has it going on right now, with Ram closely behind. The 5.3 had better be on par with at least the 5.0 in the Ford.
Why do everybody hate the chrome? Take the chrome of and it'll look even uglier.
Those square wheel arches never look right to me, not even with big tires. They make the wheels look small. It was due for an update for sure, but c'mon chevy, you can do better than this.
Could it be better, of course. But this isn't too bad. But I do agree that they didn't change enough, besides the front, the rest looks very identical. I guess I'll just have to wait to see one in person before I judge.
Dual stacked halogens in rectangles looks off in a headlight. The chrome is eh, the squat shoulders are ok but they let off into a narrow looking frame, looks like 20" biceps on a dude with small shoulders/pecs/lats
i think the truck looks like it had a refresh not redesign. Ford and Dodge have created a higher standard of interiors and technology these past years. just have to wait til i see it in person
It looks like Gm made their truck ready for the hood... I'm glad they redesigned it but the lights man...
I like the chrome. I'm partial to Ram sports myself but these are good trucks.
I now trucks aren't really about looks but this is very ugly. I'd much rather have a RAM.
I just look at this and wonder, is this the very best that they could do? If you have a legacy name famous among pick up trucks and you were charged with designing its newest incarnation, would you be proud to present this? It seems mediocre at best
Get rid of all the chrome, lift it 6 inches and put it on 35s then we'll see

I agree. I think Ram is the new standard for pickups. The new ones are amazing.
Makes me love the Ram even more. I like all the big 3 trucks just not feeling this. Chevy should have dropped that square wheel arch

Even the cab is decent, it'd be a great cab if there was a little more metal east of the door jamb
The bed is Grrr, as are the tail lights at this angle, the front just needs to get with the design language of the rear
Hey GM, with modern cad/cam technology we aren't limited to right angles. Free-form geometry could go a long way to making your wheel openings more attractive.
It's funny how the big 3 went away from the box trucks from the 90s and now Ford and Chevy are making them boxier than ever. Love the F150...hate this.

It's odd...it kinda looks like an early 2000s late 90s ford super duty in the front. I might be the only one seeing this, but because of that I think it looks a lot better than the dreadful silverado.
I'm not a truck fan but I actually like this! Not so much a fan of the silverado!
@Alex agreed 100%. In an Audi or BMW, or even a 300 yeah I like em. But I don't get why EVERY car has to have em. I saw a Kia with a set yesterday, not needed.
They don't look cheap, just excessive. I agree it could be better, but this still isn't that bad.
@matt I totally agree! Everybody is trying to add strips now but are failing miserably.
If gm is looking for a headlight designer, I'll take the job I guess, these designs are just off. Something simple with one led strip and a decent halogen is all that's needed.

I'm not impressed with these new 6 speeds. They don't downshift until you get on the gas, so when you're slowing down for a red light and it changes, you have to wait for it to drop down and find a gear. Feels like it's slipping
Like the GMC a lot more, that front grill makes the truck look like a much bigger truck, very mean looking imo
A great truck in need of traditional halogens with a simple look, these are so busy that the eye never stops looking at their peculiarity.

That gauge cluster does look exactly like fords, I like how they kept the shifter on the column though, leaves so much space between the seats!
Get ride of all the gray accents, they look to fake and are taking away from the interiors good looks, I like the entire layout except those Greg pieces
very reasonable* Why beat up an excellent interior? I like that they offer many different trim packages. I have a customer that takes his $75,000 king ranch hunting and gets it detailed monthly, most of the scratches don't even buff out. Bad idea
Haha Miguel, I'm the bigger ford fan on this site but I've been laying out the complements on this interior. They did good here and I agree 100% about the interior, they have utility versions of these trucks that have plastic floors, very easonable
To me black interiors always look cheap. Rather see beige or that saddle color.

@Ethan it's a damn truck! Why the hell would you want soft touch crap? if you're looking for soft, cushiony shit go buy a Denali. Some people forget that these truck are made for hard towing and rugged terrains.
This interior certainly isn't helping the bad rep GM gets for its interiors. The current Denali has a great interior though.
The interior build quality is currently absolutely awful on these trucks...If they could at least add some soft-touch surfaces, that would make a giant difference

One thing I do like about GM interiors, on the 3/4 and 1 tons they put a trans temp gauge in the instrument panel. I don't get why everyone doesn't do that
Inside looks nice, and btw, my dad has a $50,000 Ram Powerwagon and the interior isn't this nice. It looks pretty much the same as the Charger's. It's still nice, just not very nice.
