The centenary driving events will include a Bond-themed drive through England and Wales, a classic car rally through Scotland, a European road trip and an American event tying in to Pebble Beach
. The company was founded by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford on January 15, 1913, later taking the Aston name from the Aston Clinton Hillclimb event in Buckinghamshire. The company had built only 15,000 cars in its first 90 years, but in the past ten has expanded production threefold to 45,000. Its first car, the 1921 Aston Martin A3 prototype, is pictured here alongside its latest, the new Vanquish, at the company's headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
