Acura to Price New NSX Above GT-R

The reborn Acura NSX will debut for 2015 and a new report is already claiming that it will have a base price north that of its main Japanese rival.
It's no secret that Acura plans to launch an all-new NSX supercar in the near future, and more information about it is already beginning to leak online. Based off the stunning concept version displayed last year at the Detroit Auto Show, the production NSX, according to a Honda spokesman, will have a price tag steeper than that of one of its main potential competitors: the Nissan GT-R. Not only is the new NSX "going to be a technological marvel", it will be priced higher than the current GT-R's MSRP of $97,820.

Honda is still currently developing the supercar, but it's scheduled to begin production in time for the 2015 model year at the automaker's facility in Marysville, Ohio. It will also be a unique model for Honda because it'll be its first hand-built sports car assembled outside of Japan. The concept featured a mid-mounted VTEC V6 engine with direct-injection mated to a dual-clutch transmission. What's more is that it utilized the brand's new Super Handling All Wheel Drive hybrid system which can instantly generate negative or positive torque to the front wheel during cornering. Expect for the production NSX to debut sometime later in 2013 or early 2014.
