BMW Refreshes Z4 Roadster

BMW's nimble Z4 Roadster receives a mid-cycle facelift that focuses mainly on minor cosmetic changes, but the engine lineup remains unchanged.
BMW has just revealed full details and photos of its facelifted Z4 Roadster only a few weeks ahead of its live debut at Detroit. Past spy shots indicated that this mid-cycle facelift was coming soon but today we've been given the full skinny. The overall proportions of the car remain the same, with exterior changes limited mainly to the revised LED headlights that now feature the new "angel eyes" look. There are also new alloy wheel options and some new exterior paint options such as metallic Grey, Glacier Silver and Valencia Orange (pictured here).

There's also a new trim package called Hyper Orange that adds bits of black and orange trim throughout the interior. Minor changes are also to be found from the driver's seat such as some new wood and leather trims options. For those looking to add some enhanced driving fun, the M Sport Package features an adaptive suspension, 18-inch alloys and some aerodynamic tweaks courtesy of larger front air intakes and a revised rear bumper. The package also has some interior upgrades like sport seats, an M leather steering wheel and more M logos throughout.
The current engine lineup carries over unchanged, with the base engine remaining the 2.0-liter turbo inline-four on the entry-level sDrive28i trim. The optional engine on the sDrive35 and 35i models is the 3.0-liter inline-six. Updated pricing hasn't been announced, but expect to find the 2014 Z4 in US showrooms beginning this spring.
