This is how I see it. If you just want the luxury part, then this meets your needs. If you want better looks and performance, you have to spend more!
can get basically a mini-Maybach. Front and rear massaging seats, heated and ventilated seats, fridge in the back and rear reclining seats. Interior is nearly flawless. Really hope we get one

The design of this luxury sedan looks like a really cheesy knock-off of a Mercedes-Benz. Hyundai needs to add some unique design influence to this model.
I really cant get why people are saying this looks nicer than a merc s- class, bmw 7- series , audi a8 or jag xj when i have long mistook this for some cheap hyundai sedan until i realised it was created to compete with those cars mentioned.
Kia is not going to be the luxury division over Hyundai. Hyundai has many times thought about making a separate division for Equus and maybe Genesis. Kia will focus on the sporty sedan market for affordable alternatives
Where did u hear this, KIA is supposed to employ more luxury in the optima and the Sorrento... but KIA has made it clear on multiple ocassions that's its primary goal is a performance brand, hence the reason for its ongoing racing program.. they made a post on there page a few weeks ago talking about there future in the auto industry
but the crazy part is kia is suppose to turn into lexus infiniti acura by 2016 they will be all about luxury so idk what hyundai is doing but i like this car the equus ultimate you get 2 ipads in rear
Not a bad car at all, but it doesn't afford the same ownership experience as a Lexus, Audi, Mercedes, BMW, etc. Remember with luxury the car is only half of the story. The experience and service is the rest.
The interior is gorgeous, comfortable, and accommodating. The exterior isn't drop dead sexy, but doesn't look awful, it still has that expensive, luxurious look. Many people don't even know its a Hyundai when they see it. They are exceptional cars.
I agree with William. He's correct. Hyundai made really cheap cars to get into the auto game, now that they're here, they are starting to play ball with the big boys. The Equus is a really nice car, it just is. Nothing "old school Hyundai" about it.

And also learn to read, he didn't compare it to the Bentley he said it was compared to the bentley... people need to get over there brand snobbery, just like everyone thought a Cadillac would never out perform a bmw, worlds changing get with the times and stop being so hard headed

@Zaire there is no way you can compare this to a Bentley Mulsanne! The only reasons you'd buy this car is you can't afford an s-class, a8, XJ, 7-series, or LS.
@matt since this car was compared to a bently mulsanne this has to be 3 notches better than the LS they both have the same bells and whistles the LS you have to opt for equus is stock
And this is deffinatly up to the standerds of Lexus, just because u don't think so doesn't mean its not, people need to get past what used to be Hyundai, they are not the same company they were years ago, completely different game plan
People act like Hyundai is the only car company that uses another companies idea... get the fuck over it, every manufacturer copys off of another at some point.. its part of the buisness
Still a Hyundai. People still compare it to whatever instead of the other way around. Styling is their problem. Too generic and too many stolen design cues. He went with this because its Korean. Not superior.
I agree with Matt. It's nice a defiantly a bargain, but there's a reason it cost so much less.
@ Zaire, this is in no way an LS killer. It's not a bad car, but it's still not up to Lexus, merc, Audi etc. standards by any means

I don't care what you say, it's still a Hyundai to me. I'll take an old school S-class armored over this any day.
60k is very cheap compared to the price here. The one moon and many wealthy people drive the 160k version, that's the non armored. Both Genesis and Equus use different badges here.
Most probably not very good in cars so they will just mistake it for a cheap hyundai. But the eqqus still would not be my car of choice if i were him. I would rather go for the s- guard modified to vr7 protection.

I got to drive one and they are really nice. The only thing I didn't care for was the very numb steering. Other than that I have no problems with the car.
These things are crazy nice inside.. sat in one and instantly forgot it was a Hyundai.. almost like a completely different company builds the genesis sedan and the equus, the quality difference is amazing

That's a pretty average weight for a armoured vehicle of that armour rating level
this car comes with the beefed up 5.0 V8 which comes with 429hp and i think it was beefed up to 460 or 480
so 0-60 in 5 minutes I'm guessing....8 thousand lbs?? that's insane even the rolls weighs a few thousand less!!
Basic with almost no options are 80k without taxes and reg. fees and they go up to around 150-160k. Not including taxes.
This is how all of them are though. Just an amazing car. With Hyundai you pay $0 for the badge so all $70K is dedicated to luxury. And it's awesome
