Ferrari Details Upcoming F150 Supercar

Ferrari is keeping the final specs of its upcoming Enzo successor a closely-guarded secret, but it's slowly revealing more details about the new supercar which it claims will become one of its all-time greats.
In what is likely to become one of its all-time greatest, Ferrari has been slowly teasing us about its highly-anticipated successor to the vaunted Enzo. What was tentatively referred to as the F70 is now being referenced by Maranello as the F150, not to be mistaken with Ford's best-selling pickup truck. The name is an apparent reference to Italy's 150th anniversary, but given the fuss that Ford caused when Ferrari used the name for its F1 car, this could still be an internal designation.

Regardless of the name, Ferrari's design chief Flavio Manzoni recently stated that the car will go down in the company's history as one of its finest, alongside the likes of the 288 GTO, F40, F50 and Enzo. Like its predecessors, the F150 will incorporate both technology and design elements derived from Formula One. As Manzoni stated, "I want a front end still inspired by F1, but not the same." Delving a bit further, Manzoni says the car will be an overall design "masterpiece" and that it'll be "the pinnacle of everything, of the aesthetics and technology of Ferrari." That's quite a claim, one which we hope Ferrari will deliver in better form than the quirky styling of the Enzo.
Design and nameplate aside, the F150 is expected to be powered by a 6.3-liter V12 engine mated to a dual-clutch gearbox and a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) to deliver a power-to-weight ratio - and performance figures - to exceed the Bugatti Veyron's. Dimensions are anticipated to be considerably smaller than either the Enzo or the Veyron, however, coming in around the same size as the 458 Italia. No official launch date has been announced yet, but we're looking forward to the Geneva Auto Show this March.
