Bentley Continental GTC Speed Drops its Top

Crewe's new flagship cabriolet leaks out ahead of schedule. (Little wonder, it has 616 horsepower on tap.)

When Bentley re-introduced the Continental in 2003, it set off a tidal wave of models to follow. After the GT coupe came the GTC convertible and the Flying Spur sedan, which were in turn supplemented by Speed and Supersports versions. That made for eight versions, but the newly facelifted model promises even more. When the dust settles, the coupe, convertible and sedan will each be available in V8 or W12 specifications, plus the more powerful Speed versions - and that's before we even get to the Supersports range or the road-going GT3.

The Continental GT Speed is already out, but now the first batch of images showing the GTC Speed performance convertible have surfaced thanks to the leak-meisters at upcomingvehiclesx. No details were released with the leaked photos of the purple GTC Speed, but going on what we know about the existing coupe, we can anticipate the same 6.0-liter twin-turbo W-12 engine driving 616 horsepower to all four wheels - only without a tin top to impede the sound of all those cylinders running at full chat. We'll have to wait for Bentley to release the full skinny to tell you more, so watch this space.
