Video: WSJ’s Dan Neil Drives the $100k Fisker Karma

The Wall Street Journal automotive critic Dan Neil takes the new Fisker Karma out for a test spin in Los Angeles.

The Wall Street Journal's automotive critic, Dan Neil, has long been one of our favorite motoring journalists in the industry today. As well as having been one of the hosts of the recently cancelled "The Car Show" on Speed TV, Dan Neil has always shown a creative side to reviewing cars that combines his witty sarcasm and vast automotive knowledge. Now he's back on WSJ's new "Off Duty" lifestyle channel, reviewing the all-new Fisker Karma.

He describes it as the "world's most interesting car" due to its unique styling inside and out along with its advanced plug-in electric hybrid technology. It's also perhaps the most unique vehicle since the Tucker Torpedo, which was also known as a true designer's car.

Taking the Karma for a spin down LA's 405 freeway, Mr. Neil finds himself a bit surprised by the car and how nicely it drives. Still, the thing costs nearly $100,000. Fortunately, it looks way better than either the Chevy Volt or Toyota Prius plug-in.
