First unveiled as a concept car back in 1952, the Disco Volante (Italian for 'flying saucer') is one of the most revered cars in
Alfa Romeo's history. Back in 2010, RIAR (Registro Italiano Alfa Romeo), an association of more than 1500 vintage Alfa owners and fans from across the world, donated a bronze sculpture inspired by the 1900 Disco Volante to Alfa Romeo to celebrate its centenary. And just last month a replica of the car was up for auction at Bonhams in Paris.
