RUF Rocks Geneva with Four New Porsches

The German Porsche specialists also brought along an original 1977 RUF Turbo and a partially-assembled CTR3.

To celebrate its 35th anniversary, German tuning outfit RUF has come to Geneva fully loaded with its latest wares, showcasing how when it comes to tuning Porsches no-one matches their madness. First up is the RUF RT35 anniversary, the first turbocharged version of the 2012 911 (991) in the world. RUF claims the 3.8-liter flat-six engine produces 621hp and 608lb-ft of torque, with power going to the rear wheels via a 7-speed double-clutch PDK transmission. Top speed is a ludicrous 205mph.

An original 1977 RUF Turbo 3.3 is also on display to illustrate the origins of RUF's history and success with turbocharged engines. Looking forward, RUF says all models based on the 911 will now be built on the new 991 platform and carry over all Porsche 997-based enhancements and concepts. Moving on, and we have the RUF CTR3 Clubsport, an evolution of the RUF CTR3 with extra carbon-fiber elements added to the fenders, door sills, rear deck lid and roof-mounted spoiler. There's also a functional fixed rear spoiler.

An extra 50hp has been to the standard CTR3's twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six, which now manages 750hp and 708lb-ft of torque. Coupled to a six-speed sequential transmission it's good for a top speed of 230 mph. A partially assembled CTR3 is also being displayed for a chance to view RUF's technical innovations and engineering expertise. Next in line is the new RGT-8, also based on the 991 platform and featuring a naturally-aspirated RUF-developed flat-crank 4.5-liter V8 producing 550hp and 369lb-ft of torque and a unique high-revving soundtrack.

This is the first V8-powered Porsche 911 (991) in existence and the V8 engine was inspired by racing technology, boasting a hemispherically arranged valves, 180 degree flat crankshaft, dry sump lubrication and direct drive ancillaries eliminating all drive belts. Connected to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels, the engine helps the car hit a top speed of 198mph. Finally, RUF introduced the RXL, a 400mm-stretched Porsche Panamera with iconic five-spoke RUF 22-inch alloys and an upgraded 4.8-liter V8 with 414hp and 383lb-ft of torque.

Linked to a double-clutch gearbox, the stretched Panamera manages a top speed of 174mph. The extended wheelbase has been drawn 250mm at the B-pillar and 150mm at the rear door to accommodate drivers that find the standard model a bit lacking in interior space. Special leather and a foldable multi-purpose table are also included.
