Video: 2013 Ferrari California Cruises the Maranello Hills
Hear the reworked California for the first time as it gets taken for a serious ride around the winding Maranello roads.
Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in the shadow of the new F12 berlinetta supercar, the latest variant of the Ferrari California, updated for the 2013 with a more potent engine, lighter curb weight and new suspension package, was revealed with little fanfare. Perhaps this is why Ferrari decided to release this video, showing the new car in action around the windy, hilly roads of Maranello where the Prancing Horse engineers and test-drivers developed it.
The updated V8 engine, now developing 490hp and 373lb-ft of torque but with the same 4.3-liter displacement creates a sweet Italian soundtrack that's almost as sweet as watching the California's retractable hard top store away swiftly and effortlessly into the trunk.
