Video: BMW M3 Crashes Hard at the Nurburgring

A team of Russian amateurs last just ten minutes on the ‘Ring before crashing out in style.

Round two of the VLN endurance racing championship Nurburgring was held last weekend, and the four-hour race was won by an ecstatic Racing Association Duren in a Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Things didn't go quite so well for the amateur Russian team riding in this BMW M3 (E46). It's unclear exactly why they lost control at the top of Wehrseifen, but they were likely attempting an outside overtake, caught the high curb all wrong and flipped over. Not an ideal scenario on only the second lap of a four-hour race. If you're wondering why the marshal takes so long to get the smoking wreck and prize out the driver, try and appreciate the fact that crossing a live track is extremely dangerous. Thankfully the driver makes it out unharmed, and casually gets on his mobile phone, probably updating his Facebook status to: "Just crashed on the Nurburgring. Ain't nothing but a thing."
