Jenna Stanfield May 16, 2012
This car is sooo sexy. Good job guys!
Kenneth Williams May 15, 2012
Great job on progressing on the carrera gt. it looks good and sounds promising
John Serely May 15, 2012
This is going I be awesome when it comes ou...
Brady Jacoby May 15, 2012
Looks like Hennessey Venoms and Carrera GT's had babies! But I like it(: Wideeeee tiressss!!!!
Abraham Mendoza May 15, 2012
So...you don't like cars?
Bobby Junior May 15, 2012
This redefines BA
Jason Reimann May 15, 2012
Very cool, finally a new look coming from Porsche!
Rudolf Dassler May 15, 2012
I just died a lil... Such a great car!
Pratik Parija May 15, 2012
The headlights remind me of the F430
Thibault Leroy May 15, 2012
the headlights look F430ish
Kevin Rehbock May 15, 2012
I miss the Franken-Porsche development mule.
Isaac Taylor May 15, 2012
I agree but besides that
Nick Schnee May 15, 2012
Paintjob's a little dumb, but apart from that... Astonishing!

KeX Lim May 16, 2012
Now, this is a hybrid worth driving!
Rick Gunther May 16, 2012
I'm sorry but I'm never going to be able to get pass the fact that it's a hybrid. Not a big fan of the electric motor stuff. =/
John Serely May 15, 2012
Your right, Carlos. There is no need to worry, Brady. It is mid-engined and a porsche, so it will handle great
Carlos Ernesto Garcia May 15, 2012
Im pretty sure the last thing you need to worry about is if a mid engined PORSCHE handles well
Brady Jacoby May 15, 2012
I was gunna say, 500s is low for something that beautiful but 800 is certainly acceptable! This is gunna be a great car if it handles:)
Chris Penza May 15, 2012
So it basically has KERS?
Avery Williams May 15, 2012
That's good for a Porsche. They're starting to step up their horsepower!
Description: Porsche plans on beginning production of the 2014 918 Spyder in September of 2013 with 918 units planned. It could carry a price tag of around $850,000 and should begin deliveries in either late 2013 ...

@alex those rants of yours are severly annoying all they ever are is quotes u can get from google
John Serely May 15, 2012
Simple mistake Jackson, it is not a big deal. This is CarBuzz, not SpellingBuzz or GrammerBuzz
Jackson Michael May 15, 2012
Nice try Caleb, but "a lot" is two separate words
Brady Jacoby May 15, 2012
Billionaire* haha I'd buy it and hang it in picture frames on my walls!
Joe Fats Harper May 15, 2012
The guy who patents an affordable carbon fiber will become a millionaire..
Bruno Rocha May 15, 2012
Does carrera gt cheaper than that?
Tyler Brady May 15, 2012
If they could just find an inexpensive way to mass produce carbon fiber this car would be $250,000 instead.
Arjun Singh Gehlot May 15, 2012
These are just the direct costs you are speculating about - you have to weigh in the risk and the cost of that capital
Alex Arvanitis May 15, 2012
And I doubt it costs them $166,000 per vehicle to make them once the initial $252,000,000 is factored out. By doing this then figuring 918 units*$850,000*(.20) we end up around $160m. $160m+$252m shows $412m and leaves a projected profit of $350m!
Alex Arvanitis May 15, 2012
Before someone asks, no I didnt forget there were development costs, but even generously per portioned on a 33/20 model (33% upfront development and 20% unit variable to price ratio) they still come out way ahead. I doubt it cost $252m to engineer.
Alex Arvanitis May 15, 2012
$775,000,000~ in projected revenue if they sell out at that price. There's so much profit that its almost disgusting but wealthy people the world over exist as demand so they will capitalize on pricing the supply. Hats off, they know their game.
Avery Williams May 15, 2012
Really?! $850,000! It seems like cars nowadays are becoming more expensive but I have to remember this is a Porsche and a race car.
John Serely May 16, 2012
Removable roof panel = yes!!
Justin Routh May 16, 2012
Its a $850k porsche i see no reason why the side vents wouldnt be functional
Sean Wallace May 15, 2012
Me Gusta la coche!
Brady Jacoby May 15, 2012
Do ya think those side vents are effective or for full appearance??
Dan Gavan May 15, 2012
Yea, everything!
Jean Ruto May 15, 2012
Looks like it is waiting to pounce on something.
Brady Jacoby May 15, 2012
I really like those rims!
Ben Arends May 16, 2012
For what it's worth: I fixking love this Porsche! Just commenting on the exhaust is all- I love it, just curious
Janak Solanki May 16, 2012
That back is insane!
Brandon Carr May 15, 2012
Oh this should be censored!!!!!!!!!! It's so sexy!!!!!!!
Wmg Chinchilla May 15, 2012
It looks incredible from the back. I'm glad to see the engine area will be similar to the Carrera GT
Abraham Mendoza May 15, 2012
@Ben: That's what they're testing right now.
Jon González Eguiluz May 15, 2012
Everything concerning the engine is on top to keep its heat as far away as posible from the batteries which are down
Joe Fats Harper May 15, 2012
Seems like it might be bad to drive in the rain? You'd expect they solved that problem, but still a concern
Dillon Dixon May 15, 2012
I'm sure Porsche have thought of all that. Otherwise, the exhaust wouldn't be that way.
Jason Dannheim May 15, 2012
It must not be a problem Ben. Side-exit exhausts should have a similar problem and they've been used for decades.
Ben Arends May 15, 2012
When the car is stopped, there is no aerodynamic impact. Heat rises, particulate falls. Ever seen smog? Same thing on a small basis. Not a problem when moving, but ever been on a drive where u never stopped once? Similar to a motorcycle, I bet
Jv May 15, 2012
The back looks very similar to the carrera gt, love it!
jester May 15, 2012
The exhaust fires away from anything that would aerodynamically suck the exhaust back into the cabin, not sure I understand the concern.
Ben Arends May 15, 2012
I love Porsche. If there wasn't already bandwagon, I'd build it. This is another amazing car! Love the exhaust, hopefully it doesn't make the driver smell though...sitting still would concern me with it
wfdowns May 16, 2012
that dosent mean anything, companys change car parts all the time, but considering what it looked like last time we saw it and now it has its own body, everything on the car will probally carry over
Cody Matthews May 16, 2012
Those are the right tail lights. They were on the concept.
Janak Solanki May 16, 2012
Wow look how fat those tires are!
Sean Bray May 15, 2012
They look tacked on. Its just a test mule I'd bet they are just 911 lights held in place for now. Don't want anyone seeing the finished product already.
Alex Biegaj May 15, 2012
Looks light the taillights are directly borrowed from the new 911.
Forrest Wood May 15, 2012
That back end looks sweet
deeday May 16, 2012
still a beautiful car
deeday May 16, 2012
the lights wete sweeter originally. they were empty in the center, the spoiler was retractable as well
Eldar Servio Di Basic May 15, 2012
Oh, wonderful lights.
Carlton Salmon May 15, 2012
@ Dennis. Deafening and epic mate.
Dennis Choong May 15, 2012
The sound must be deafening at full throttle with the exhaust just behind your head
deeday May 15, 2012
originally where the exaust are were air intakes that rose up @a certain speed like the murcielago but even cooler. I guess if they arent going that route the exaust idea is cool
Oscar Galvan May 15, 2012
Don't forget mclarens new car
Carlos Ernesto Garcia May 15, 2012
I hope thers a review between this and the enzo replacement
Carlos Ernesto Garcia May 15, 2012
I wish u could see the engine like in the Carrera GT :(
Goobee May 15, 2012
the back looks like the 911 gt1
Sam Oglesby May 15, 2012
Love the exhaust exits from the humps
Adam Wieland May 15, 2012
That back is gorgeous
jester May 15, 2012
That's the exhaust.
Domi Bsaibes May 15, 2012
What are those 2 holes?
wfdowns May 16, 2012
i never like a porsche front end really thats back have been hit or miss but always loved there sound and performance, this i like everywhere
jester May 15, 2012
The front is too boring, rear is too busy. Everything between the wheelbase is perfect.
Marlin William Mack May 16, 2012
Best way to say this is that this car is stunning
gammo66 May 16, 2012
see it where the drs are in slightly & the frnt quarters, prob just me.
Abraham Mendoza May 15, 2012
So good....so good.
codymustang May 15, 2012
that is a damn good looking car!
Kev Berkel May 15, 2012
If it had the wrap around windshield I'd think it was a koenigsegg. Sooo sick for Porsche
gammo66 May 15, 2012
kinda see 959 & carrera gt in it, looking good
Paul Roberts May 16, 2012
I like the large air intakes
