The 960hp Porsche Turbo-Based 2014 Genevart Celsius Does 0-62mph in 2.9s

A new Porsche-based supercar will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next year.

A Swedish start-up supercar company called Genevart has created a new model based on the Porsche 911 997 Turbo. It will be a hybrid an impressive total output sure to rival anything it meets on the street or track. The impressive Genevart Celsius packs a 3.6-liter inline-six rated at roughly 850hp and it will combine with two electric motors powering each of the back wheels along with a pair of KERS units to supplement power to each of the front wheels.

Total output is estimated to be around 960hp and an electronic sequential transmission will transmit power to all four wheels. It returns 16.9mpg in the U.S. The Celsius also borrows the 997 Porsche chassis, although it has been reinforced to handle all the added power the Swiss have added to the new supercar. A set of carbon ceramic brakes will further help handle the Genevart model's destructive power. It stands 1.3m tall, measures 4.4m in length and has a width of 1.8m. For even more improved performance, the model features a targa roof and uses a carbon fiber shell, rear wing and air brake for a light curb weight of 3,030lbs.

The Genevart Celsius will make its debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show and deliveries are expected to be made as early as September of next year. The Swiss company will run it on the Nurburgring next year along with an appearance in the Gumbal 3000.
