Racing drivers of all abilities get to compete in the GT4 challenge driving identical Aston Martin GT4 cars around some of the best circuits in the UK and Europe. Based on the Vantage S road car, the GT4 sports a 4.7-liter V8, good for 445hp, a paddle-shift transmission, race-developed ABS and traction control, and a 50:50 weight balance. It comes with a steel roll cage and a splitter that increases downforce at the front. At the rear a similar job is performed by a larger boot 'flip' that works with a new carbon-fiber diffuser and rear underfloor.
A wet track made for challenging race conditions and an exciting start to the series, which is now in its third year of competition. Having completed 75 laps of the historic circuit, the car of Pierre Mantello and Olivier Bouche ran out winners. This weekend challengers will be heading to Oulton Park, before visiting Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Snetterton. Spa Francorchamps and Le Mans is also on the agenda.
