Uday Hussein’s Ferrari F40 Still Collecting Dust in Iraq

Uday Hussein’s abandoned Ferrari F40 has been spotted in Iraq.

The legendary F40 is one of the best-looking and most talked about Ferrari models in history. The F40 wasn't just popular with auto enthusiasts but the sons of dictators as well, as Saddam Hussein's eldest son Uday procured one around the time of the first Gulf War. The twin-turbo V8 of the F40 sent it from 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds and to a top speed of 201mph, so it's a shame to see what has become of it almost 9 years after Uday's death at the hands of the U.S. Special Forces.

Apparently the Ferrari F40 was in a garage in Erbil having some work done on it before the U.S. invasion of Iraq. When the war broke out, Uday had other things on his mind to worry about other than his Italian supercar, so it became an abandoned piece of property. That wasn't all though, as Uday was an avid collector of automobiles. We have compiled a few more examples of his collection in the gallery below. The photos, taken by trlux on Flickr, shows the F40 apparently gathering dust at an impound lot. Anyone think a special operation is necessary to extradict that bad boy from its holding cell?
