I think the general public isn't ready for hydrogen technology yet. It has had too many catastrophic failures, and granted we have come a hell of a long way it's hard to overcome public opinion.

I dont have any problems with evs. But evs are not going to be even close to normal cars running on gas in our lifetime! Instead I think we will need to compromise and use hydrogen cars which kind of does what evs are supposed to do without a bad
Ya i for one is really looking forward to EVs.. Painful to run my rdx on 93 and only get 17mpgs.. And now that gas is expected to hit 4.50 before thanksgiving..
I wish people would stop bagging on EV. We have to start sometime and somewhere with electric motors and yes they will be crappy, just like everything else in its early stages

Shouldnt Europe be driving EVs since their gas prices are so high and shouldnt we be making more clean diesels since our country drives longer distances?
Wow i like the thought of never seeing the gas pumps anymore.. But u prolly still need a small suv for out of state drives..
82 miles isn't shabby, you could drive 35-38 miles to work and back. That's respectable if you just used it as a work car. Then you could have your weekend toys, the truck, the muscle car, motorcycle whatever.
If you were to get your full range of 82 miles then sure but it would be much more practical to get a 50+ mpg diesel economy car so you don't have to stop constantly ev's only work for around city or people with short commutes
The lease is nice because you don't have to worry about battery costs and a soft selling market after. Along with easier recalls if it gets all flame happy.

No the Prius isn't electric completely it still uses a motor primarily. None of these vehicles even have a gas motor.

Actually scratch that, these are electric only which is why the Volt isn't even mentioned.
Prius isn't mostly electric like these cars, it's still mostly gas.
