Yeah Ethanol is pointless. Worse MPG, raises the price of corn, and it still emits bad pollution

Those answers are all somewhat right, but miss the point of ethanol entirely. It's less prone to detonation, so you can run more boost on an ethanol mix. Plus, lower energy density means you inject more into the cylinders each time they fire= cooling

Ethanol is corn product a slight power increase a decrease in gas mileage and more corrosive than gasoline
