James SchramkoSep 04, 2012 Please never refer to the Hyundai genesis coupe as a track car ...ever...steering is so vague it's silly...frs/brz feels incredible around a track...take an avg driver...frs/brz hands down better
Aaron CartwrightJul 23, 2012 @hove what you do t realize is that track days are cheep if you go with a club. You would know that if you'd ever been. Oh and yes I'd rather have the brz over, 135! One is a lot cheaper to tune and repair. I do love the 135i though!
Aaron CartwrightJul 23, 2012 Sorry hov I do t buy it, you haven't compared times. The works is a much better handling car. I've seen them both at the track driven by the same driver and the works allways wins. I like the brz and track days are only 50$ lol not expensive
Hovie Hov E-HouseJul 23, 2012 Where u gona go with handling?Ur gona use the streets as a race track? How often does a guy that cant afford a car over 40 000 gonna go on a track ? Once a week ? Ur spending an extra 5 6 grand for a day a week? Please trd flop no 1 will buy trd kit
Aaron CartwrightJul 23, 2012 @brady, Will is right Kia is a great car now. And remember they race against handa civics, scion tc's, and other smaller cars. The bigger ones race against TL's and other similar cars. Check out sports car series of America.
Aaron CartwrightJul 23, 2012 Nope you definitely don't want that..
William DownsJul 22, 2012 yea brady there isba huge difference between kia then and now... and my kia dont get passed by much, dog kia all u want but there is a reson why there still points leader in continental sports car series over bmw, porsche and mazda, and there still only running one car after the crash at road america... ur ignorance towards cars really showed with that statment since both kia and hyundai have one ...
Brady FeredayJul 22, 2012 Ya that's what I don't want
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 Just look up"aps 350z oil pan" it has baffles in it so your motor won't starve mid corner, and it holds an extra quart as well. Really good product and i believe it works with the stock pump as well. Friend of mine found out the hard way in his 350z
Brady FeredayJul 22, 2012 Ya it drinks oil lol xD I've been to the track with it twice my problem is its about 2 hours from me but I live in a Moutain and a lot of canyon roads I take it up
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 @brady you should look into getting an aps pan for your z.
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 Nice but you've never tracked it or you put an aftermarket oil pan and pump on. that engine has an oil starvation problem in tight corners.
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 Hey Brady what year is your fairlady? Really hope your not refuring to an 80's or 90's one cause if you are you really don't understand what a drivers car is.
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 @hov have driven the abarth cause it's not even half as good as the mini. Lol
Oh and the mx-5 is the most raced car in the world.
Brady FeredayJul 22, 2012 And your Kia is probably amazing at getting passed lol xD
Brady FeredayJul 22, 2012 I've owned a Kia shit feel apart but it was my first car my parents had a Hyundai elantra 08 and 2010 Santa fa they both feel apart Kia and Hyundai have a lot of catching up to do before I give them what they deserve after I've seen and driven both
William DownsJul 22, 2012 whats ur point.. i drive a kia... and its a very reliable car and fully loaded for under 20k. is amazing around the track also.. i have alot more say then u do considering ive actually driven this car, almost bought the brz but its was gonna be north of 30k after taxes and the finance rate was rediculious.
Brady FeredayJul 22, 2012 And I support Asian cars and drive only Japanese cars my current car is a fairlady Z and I'm just disappointed that this car isn't what it should be coming from these 2
Brady FeredayJul 22, 2012 William you drive a Kia you have no say
Daniel EadsJul 22, 2012 @Hovie, why don't you think before you open your mouth, and Brady Subaru already has the wrx and the sti to fill that area of the market. Why would they compete against themselves?
William DownsJul 22, 2012 well hovie shows u know nothing cause there already selling, and ur ignorant trash to dictate a car as "a fag or chick car"... and brady ur still missing the point of the car, subaru and toyota can build a car with more power easily but they choose not to since now a days everyone tunes there cars for different things, this is just a starting point for people to make what they want but since u onl...
Hovie Hov E-HouseJul 22, 2012 Also a mx5 is a fag car or a chick car ... A mini is drivers car too but the john cooper works is a 220 hp beast ... Fiat 500 abarth is 170 hp half the weight handles twice as good ... Uuu guys dont get it this wont sell
Brady FeredayJul 22, 2012 To wait for the STI version or TRD version but this is a sad TRD edition they should have at least touched the motor a little bit
Brady FeredayJul 22, 2012 Look I understand the car I get it but it just feels like Subaru got lazy and just allowed toyota tell them what to do instead of them taking the reigns and buliding the monster that this car should have been in the first place without having
Kyle SmithJul 22, 2012 LOL Brady, again you just restated a point you've made previously. We get it! Nobody cares that a bunch of 16-18k cars are going to tear this thing up. This isn't a speed demon and you still can't comprehend the car's purpose. Leave the speed aside.
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 To all the haters, would you rather have another celica?
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 @kyle awesome, couldn't have said it better!
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 All I can say Brady, is you obviously haven't driven the thing. So you have no experiance to base your opinion. If you have driven one and you still don't get this car, it's cause you never took the time to learn to actually drive.
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 I mentioned it cause it's in your pic, was using it to make a point, not based on other people opinions. I actually have experiance driving the 5.0 and driving a car that gives u confidence is allways the better way to go/usually faster to.Thats all
Maria GarciaJul 22, 2012 If there actually is a turbo model of the BRZ/FR-S, I wonder how much it's going to cost since the BRZ limited already cost $29k.
Daniel EadsJul 22, 2012 You guys really don't get the point of this car do you? This is a drivers car! Like the mx-5 all they focused on was driving pleasure not straight line speed. Almost every comparison with other cars the gt86 came on top because they said it was so...
Brady FeredayJul 21, 2012 This car should have been 16-18k for it to be as good as you guys make it out to be hell you can get a year old car that would tear this thing up
Bruce-Almighty TumblinJul 21, 2012 Yea I just change the pic Aaron but I still never mentioned it
Paul PickardJul 21, 2012 I don't really understand where this thing is cheap? 25k plus is hardly cheap. I sincerely doubt I'll have to worry about these showing up at englishtown raceway and giving my wrx a lot of trouble.
Kyle SmithJul 21, 2012 Boss, I typed that I would rather BUY this car over most V6s. I never said anything about what I consider faster. Learn to read.
You've still got your mind wrapped around the whole speed issue. Leave it. You keep repeating yourself and it's annoying
Brady FeredayJul 21, 2012 What v6s than Kyle cause the v6s that would be rear wheel drive would destroy this car now the front wheel drive v6s would lose to it
Kyle SmithJul 21, 2012 Haters gonna hate. This is a great car hands down. So what if it doesn't have 400hp? You guys are like 5 year olds just interested if a car's fast. There's more to a car than that. I find the BRZ/FRS unique in the market and I'd buy one over most V6s
Jairo GarciaJul 21, 2012 All they did is just add more dead weight for that little boxer engine to lug around. Need to amp up the engine bay
Aaron CartwrightJul 21, 2012 Bruce your pic by your name was a 5.0 logo till you just changed it lok
Aaron CartwrightJul 21, 2012 Actually Bruce I know a lot, I have laguna, thunder hill and sears point, all within an hour or so of me. There also a big auto cross scene here, and I worked for a few shops in the area as well. Oh the turbo fr-s and brz are on the way, don't worry!
Hovie Hov E-HouseJul 21, 2012 Brady is COMPLETLY RIGHT yea a great place to startfor tuners soon as u "tune" it even touch anything u have a brand new car with zero warranty ... Bullshittyy .. Hyundai had it right withthe genisis 270 hp out of der 4 banger
Bruce-Almighty TumblinJul 21, 2012 @Aaron, ha ha ha 1st. I didn't mention anything about a Mustang you did 2nd. I like the TOYOBARU I just wish they could have gave it at least 275hp & torque OR made it easy for us to modify it (because that's what we are going to do anyways) 3rd. Be honest how many guys you know that race regular or modified cars in a circuit track? Ill bet not a whole lot!
Aaron CartwrightJul 21, 2012 @Bruce love how you think just because a professional put down some good lap times in a stang you think it's still fast with average Joe drivin, but truth is, you would probably be faster in this car on a track than in your 5.0
Bruce-Almighty TumblinJul 21, 2012 Hell they could have kept the aero kit & cosmetics, them use the money to put work in the motor; ALL SHOW & NO GO!
FlymcbeanJul 21, 2012 David, initial D isn't accurate.
Aaron CartwrightJul 21, 2012 All I'm sayin is wait a few months and go to your local track and watch these things destroy your fav cars!
Aaron CartwrightJul 21, 2012 Ive been waiting for a car like this a long time! So glad they finally made it, and also glad that a lot of people just don't understand how great it is. Can't wait to suprise a few z and porche owners on the track!! ; )
Aaron CartwrightJul 21, 2012 Brady, I had an old 86 jetta that was lightened to 1,900 and had suspension mods. With a stock 136hp motor that killed camero's and mustangs back in 98. Raced olmost every night on a small 8 mile stretch of mountian rd. power isn't everything.
William DownsJul 21, 2012 david its not based off the 86, its the spiritual succesor and is based off attributes from multiple toyota cars, only thing it has in common with the 86 is its amazing balance, and brady this upgraded would kill a wrx around a track, this is a handling focused car, and again as already stated by many its just a great, cheap tuning platform for tuners and racing teams.
Cory DeinesJul 21, 2012 Sorry Brady but this is not going to be dominating Mustangs or Camaros anytime soon. It may handle slightly better but it just doesn't have near enough power to compete.
Brady FeredayJul 21, 2012 All I'm saying is I wanted to see this thing come and dominate the mustang the Z and the camaro or at least be in there class I would have gotten one if it had but instead is comp is civics and speed 3s and the focus
David GuerreroJul 21, 2012 Besides, the GT86 is based on the original AE86 (levin/trueno). They werent power monsters like the GTR, Supra, or RX7. They were light and great downhill drifters.
Brady FeredayJul 21, 2012 The toyboru is a knife in a gun fight
Brady FeredayJul 21, 2012 It doesn't matter any other rear wheel drive will smoke this car
David GuerreroJul 21, 2012 You an idiot, your comparing a world class rally car to a RWD sports coupe.
Brady FeredayJul 21, 2012 Cause ya you can tune it when you buy it but by time you spent the time tuning it and spending money on it to go faster it will still be slower than a stock STI I'm willing to bet
Brady FeredayJul 21, 2012 This car is a disappointment to me
William DownsJul 21, 2012 of course he didnt, just like he still dosnt get the point of this car, like phillip said on another pic its bare bones cause its an amazing starting point for drivers and tuners, has all the basics u need to make a great car whatever they do to the car tuners are gonna change anyway so its just a blank canvas to make ur own beast
Phillip FitchewJul 21, 2012 Correct.
The aero is much improved and suspension counts for a LOT I'm RWD cars. Also, I think they kept the engine stock with the assumption that it's the first place tuners will start tinkering. Helps keep the price down, too.
Aaron CartwrightJul 21, 2012 Just because there's no mods to the motor doesn't mean this thing isn't at least a second to two seconds a lap faster!
Brady FeredayJul 21, 2012 So they put stickers and a body kit on it -_- still not worth it
Description: Completing the package is a new quad exhaust system for enhanced engine response and sound. In other words, it's the GT 86 (known Stateside as the Scion FR-S)... only more so. The Toyota Racing D...Add Comments1
Phillip FitchewJul 21, 2012 their customer base was going to want. It's a very well thought out and classy approach.
Edgar HernandezJul 21, 2012 4 tips is pointless on this car, it doesn't even need 2 tips.
Aaron CartwrightJul 21, 2012 I like how the kit looks just wish it blended better with the car and didn't have those hard plastic looking lines where it meets the body of the car.
Zaire WilkinsJul 21, 2012 i cant just get with those tailights if i could i would remake them to shape along with the car
Preston HarrisJul 21, 2012 Philip that's a good argument, man I see your point on the tuning.
Kyle JanchenkoJul 21, 2012 I like it! I'm honestly a fan of mid-engined over front, but I would drive this! I think that Toyota did a great job delivering what they promised, and I actually see the modest engine size as a positive on a car like this.
No PistonsJul 21, 2012 His point is 4 tips are not needed for a 4 cyl and is in fact added weight for cosmetics. It's like how silly it is that the rx8 has twin tips when it only has one header, added weight for looks.
William DownsJul 21, 2012 way to go phillip, u understand the point of the car, and this kit looks really nice my only problem i have with these car arebthe ebay tail lights, and its not even the shape its just the clear lens with the chrome housing
Phillip FitchewJul 21, 2012 canvas for the tuner's masterpiece.
I don't think anyone can deny that the new 86 offers one hell of a platform on which to build a seriously sick ride.
Phillip FitchewJul 21, 2012 The same ideas are definitely in play here. The car is underwhelming stock, but has all the properties needed to be great after tuning.
The heritage of the 86 is not to be born great, but to be made into greatness. Toyotas' job is to provide the
Phillip FitchewJul 21, 2012 "Actually needs?"
By leaving the boxer stock and upgrading the exhaust, they only playbmore to what tuners are naturally going to want to do. They caught a lot of guff for the actual FT being kinda bare bones, but that's what it MEANS to be an 86.
Preston HarrisJul 21, 2012 Either way the back still looks pretty great
Preston HarrisJul 21, 2012 I don't think it actually needs all four exhaust pipes...silly Toyota
Ahklil SadiqiJul 21, 2012 fine piece of ass. it should've been turbo'd
Kyle SchottJul 21, 2012 Not a fan of the rear, makes it stick out too much. Also disappointing to put TRD on it without an accompanying increase in power.
Peter Mark GacekJul 23, 2012 I would say Michelin is the tire industry equivalent to Porsche in the auto industry. They don't necessarily make the nĂºmero uno, best of the best, but they make the most well rounded product in their respective markets. Therefore, they are the best!
Aaron CartwrightJul 22, 2012 Ya I had the cups on my old 240z and they are amazing but sooo expensive and I only got 3 months of driving out of them.
Peter Mark GacekJul 23, 2012 I think it mates to the interior very well. Simple and spartan for the most part. I strongly dislike overly complicated interiors/steering wheels.
Vince DeMasiJul 21, 2012 Well it is supposed to be a tuner car so it makes sense
Michael GallagherJul 21, 2012 The whole inside looks very... Blah.but I didn't expect any less
Henz HerreroJul 21, 2012 I dk if they assume that everyone will be changing steering wheels but damn.. Thats one bland steering wheel..
