Please never refer to the Hyundai genesis coupe as a track car ...ever...steering is so vague it's silly...frs/brz feels incredible around a track...take an avg driver...frs/brz hands down better
@hove what you do t realize is that track days are cheep if you go with a club. You would know that if you'd ever been. Oh and yes I'd rather have the brz over, 135! One is a lot cheaper to tune and repair. I do love the 135i though!
Sorry hov I do t buy it, you haven't compared times. The works is a much better handling car. I've seen them both at the track driven by the same driver and the works allways wins. I like the brz and track days are only 50$ lol not expensive

@brady, Will is right Kia is a great car now. And remember they race against handa civics, scion tc's, and other smaller cars. The bigger ones race against TL's and other similar cars. Check out sports car series of America.

Just look up"aps 350z oil pan" it has baffles in it so your motor won't starve mid corner, and it holds an extra quart as well. Really good product and i believe it works with the stock pump as well. Friend of mine found out the hard way in his 350z
Ya it drinks oil lol xD I've been to the track with it twice my problem is its about 2 hours from me but I live in a Moutain and a lot of canyon roads I take it up
Nice but you've never tracked it or you put an aftermarket oil pan and pump on. that engine has an oil starvation problem in tight corners.

I've owned a Kia shit feel apart but it was my first car my parents had a Hyundai elantra 08 and 2010 Santa fa they both feel apart Kia and Hyundai have a lot of catching up to do before I give them what they deserve after I've seen and driven both
whats ur point.. i drive a kia... and its a very reliable car and fully loaded for under 20k. is amazing around the track also.. i have alot more say then u do considering ive actually driven this car, almost bought the brz but its was gonna be north of 30k after taxes and the finance rate was rediculious.
And I support Asian cars and drive only Japanese cars my current car is a fairlady Z and I'm just disappointed that this car isn't what it should be coming from these 2

All they did is just add more dead weight for that little boxer engine to lug around. Need to amp up the engine bay

Actually Bruce I know a lot, I have laguna, thunder hill and sears point, all within an hour or so of me. There also a big auto cross scene here, and I worked for a few shops in the area as well. Oh the turbo fr-s and brz are on the way, don't worry!

@Aaron, ha ha ha 1st. I didn't mention anything about a Mustang you did 2nd. I like the TOYOBARU I just wish they could have gave it at least 275hp & torque OR made it easy for us to modify it (because that's what we are going to do anyways) 3rd. Brady, I had an old 86 jetta that was lightened to 1,900 and had suspension mods. With a stock 136hp motor that killed camero's and mustangs back in 98. Raced olmost every night on a small 8 mile stretch of mountian rd. power isn't everything.
david its not based off the 86, its the spiritual succesor and is based off attributes from multiple toyota cars, only thing it has in common with the 86 is its amazing balance, and brady this upgraded would kill a wrx around a track, this is a handling focused car, and again as already stated by many its just a great, cheap tuning platform for tuners and racing teams.
Sorry Brady but this is not going to be dominating Mustangs or Camaros anytime soon. It may handle slightly better but it just doesn't have near enough power to compete.
All I'm saying is I wanted to see this thing come and dominate the mustang the Z and the camaro or at least be in there class I would have gotten one if it had but instead is comp is civics and speed 3s and the focus
Besides, the GT86 is based on the original AE86 (levin/trueno). They werent power monsters like the GTR, Supra, or RX7. They were light and great downhill drifters.

Correct. The aero is much improved and suspension counts for a LOT I'm RWD cars. Also, I think they kept the engine stock with the assumption that it's the first place tuners will start tinkering. Helps keep the price down, too.
Just because there's no mods to the motor doesn't mean this thing isn't at least a second to two seconds a lap faster!

This ride height with the spoiler makes the side profile look awesome. it always looked kind of plain in the back
I like how the kit looks just wish it blended better with the car and didn't have those hard plastic looking lines where it meets the body of the car.

I like it! I'm honestly a fan of mid-engined over front, but I would drive this! I think that Toyota did a great job delivering what they promised, and I actually see the modest engine size as a positive on a car like this.
His point is 4 tips are not needed for a 4 cyl and is in fact added weight for cosmetics. It's like how silly it is that the rx8 has twin tips when it only has one header, added weight for looks.

"Actually needs?" By leaving the boxer stock and upgrading the exhaust, they only playbmore to what tuners are naturally going to want to do. They caught a lot of guff for the actual FT being kinda bare bones, but that's what it MEANS to be an 86.
Not a fan of the rear, makes it stick out too much. Also disappointing to put TRD on it without an accompanying increase in power.
I would say Michelin is the tire industry equivalent to Porsche in the auto industry. They don't necessarily make the número uno, best of the best, but they make the most well rounded product in their respective markets. Therefore, they are the best!
Ya I had the cups on my old 240z and they are amazing but sooo expensive and I only got 3 months of driving out of them.
I've run Pilot Super Sports on my car and theyre great. For 30k miles until its $2K for a new set
Those are great tires, but to not break the bank, I'd run the Bridgestone re11's.

I think it mates to the interior very well. Simple and spartan for the most part. I strongly dislike overly complicated interiors/steering wheels.
I dk if they assume that everyone will be changing steering wheels but damn.. Thats one bland steering wheel..
