Hennessey Velociraptor Gets Down and Dirty in Texas
Matt Farah hits the dirt in a Hennessey-tuned Ford F-150 SVT Raptor for the latest video from Drive.
Matt Farah is on the record as being a big fan of both the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor and of Hennessey, having recently driven the Venom GT. But in the latest episode of TUNED, he questions the benefits of laying out $16,000 for a more powerful, more raucous version of the Raptor that he uses for his daily drive. The stock Raptor packs a 411-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 and stands as one of the most ferocious vehicles on or off the road. Hennessey has tuned it out to a nice, round 600hp.
That's supercar power, but while the stock Raptor gets an already-paltry 13mpg on the EPA combined cycle, the VelociRaptor manages just 3.6. That makes for one thirsty animal, no matter how adept it is at pulling cars out of ditches. Matt Farah takes it out onto a rainy, dirty road in Texas for a little romp in the mud.
