McLaren Sends Armada of GT3s to Spa

McLaren will send nine of its MP4-12C GT3 racers to the 24 Hours of Spa this coming weekend.

This weekend, an unpredecented nine examples of the magnificent McLaren MP4-12C GT3 will face off at the challenging 4.35-mile Spa-Francorchamps circuit to battle it out in the Total 24 Hours of Spa.

One of the most testing events on the motorsport calendar, the 24-hour race is the main event in the 2012 Blancpain Endurance Series. McLaren GT works driver Rob Bell highlights the challenges facing each of the teams in this compelling preview video. Several enhancements differentiate the GT3 racer from the road car, from a different suspension and lighter repositioned gearbox to unique doors, hood, front splitter and rear wing. McLaren has thus far sold 25 examples of the MP4-12C GT3 for £325,000 apiece, and another 20 are scheduled for production.
