Loder1899 Tweaks the Outgoing Ford Mondeo

The Ford Mondeo gets some key enhancements before its replacement arrives.

The European-market Ford Mondeo (known in the US as the Fusion) is nearing the end of its lifespan, soon to be replaced by a new model. But before it does, Loder1899 has given it a makeover. Refusing to let the benchmark sedan go out without a bang, the Bavarian tuner has given the fourth-generation Mondeo a significant tuning package. Starting under the hood, Loder1899 has fitted a sports exhaust system that, when coupled with a power kit, enhances the 2.2-liter turbo-diesel to a respectable 239 horsepower and 361 pound-feet of torque.

These figures are even more impressive when you take into account that the standard version only turns out 197 hp and 310 lb-ft. Design-wise, Loder's take on the Mondeo includes a new front apron, side skirts, roof spoiler, rear wing and diffuser. The body kit can be had in either matching finish or carbon fiber for an even more aggressive look. A sports suspension package lowers the Mondeo by 35 mm. The Germans have also made a whole host of wheels options available for the otherwise rather generic sedan, ranging in size from 18 to 20 inches and wrapped in low-profile rubber.
