Wow. Its hard to top a regular prowler but this has acomplished the task of making a prowler look even worse.

The Prowler is a great looking car, whatever is shown in this picture is not.
Since Plymouth already ruined the car with all the shoddy internal parts, it's about time someone tried to ruin the only good part about this car. Although I think it looks fine and not much different than the original

When I was a kid I always thought this was some kind of bad ass sports car but now I know how weak it is sadly. They should've put the usual 5.7 hemi in it.

The skull shifter more then makes up for the other downfalls. Nothing says "bad-ass" like a skull shifter.

4.3 had 190 hp. And this was still a 14 second car. That 3.5 was a torque monster.
@Greg... gm has had the 4.3 v6 since the mid 90's with 200hp/250lb ft of torque and ford had the 4.2 with about the same.
They should have at least made it incredibly easy to swap the trans and motor out for a V8 manual

In the time of rising gas prices, they went with the 6, and lost on the gamble. However how many American v6's had over 200hp in 97? I can't think of any...
Well there's your problem!!! There's no V8!!!! Street rods, retro rods, rat rods.... Any of them, were American fun cars meant to have a lot of power with no weight whatsoever!!! They deserve a v8!
That's how we do it in America. Take what was popular and make it look like the original but then give it the cheapest parts, a weak engine, and a weak automatic transmission.
I don't like Prowlers, but they ruined it. It still deserves better than this, even though though car companies should never try to make factory Hot-Rods
Nah the engine and tranny combo is what made this car terrible. Coil have been awesome with a v8
