Saleen S7 Gets Some New Rims

A modern American performance icon rolls on fresh stock from ADV.1

The Saleen S7 first hit production in 2000 and was the only car in their lineup not based on an existing chassis. It still stands as a badge of honor for American supercars. This particular S7 is one of only four models equipped with the Saleen Performance Package. The kit includes a remap of the ECU, new cam-shafts, an exhaust upgrade and fresh intake gear. The result is a boost to the S7's Ford-sourced naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V8 from 550 horsepower to 650.

Built in Irvine, California, the Saleen S7 featured a lightweight steel and aluminum honeycomb chassis for a curb weight of only 2,750 lbs. A pure supercar in every sense of the word, the S7 can still dice it with the best Europe has to offer. A fully-leather interior with aluminum trim, rear-view camera and LCD monitor highlight a few of the exceptional qualities of the S7's cabin. Though this isn't the twin-turbo version, the S7 can still accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 3.3 seconds and to 100 mph in 7.1 seconds, running through the quarter-mile in an impressive 11.35 seconds.

The Saleen S7 shot in the following clip by BrianZuk is owned by AE Performance and is sporting a set of distinct ADV.1 5.2 SL track-spec wheels measuring 19 inches in the front and 20 in the back. The spokes are finished in slick matte black while the rims are decked out in brushed gunmetal.
