Jet-Powered Drag Races

A drag race is a lot more fun to watch when both of the cars are powered by jet engines.

Jet-powered cars are marvels of engineering that command attention whenever they hit the track. There's just something about a car powered by an engine capable of shooting fire and doing an 1/8th of a mile in less than 7 seconds that makes people take notice. These videos feature some of the oddest and most intriguing jet-powered drag races ever caught on tape. Even if you aren't a huge fan of drag racing, you'll want to say that you've see a jet-powered scooter race a Lamborghini Gallardo.

Very rarely do you see four jet-powered cars racing at the same time. Skip to 2:24 if you want to avoid the lengthy intro and go straight to the 5 seconds of action.

This is probably the only time you'll ever see a Peugeot scooter race a Lamborghini Gallardo. Normally a race like this would be no contest, but the Pegeot scooter is equipped with a small jet engine. You'll have to watch the video to find out who comes out on top.

Top Gear held one of the most epic jet-powered drag races of all time when they matched the Bugatti Veyron against the Euro Fighter Typhoon fighter jet.
