2013 Opel Astra Convertible Drops its Top on the Nurburgring
Opel’s new convertible is hitting some high speeds on the Nordschleife sans roof.
The Opel Astra Convertible is inching ever closer towards production and just a few short weeks after our always reliable photographers caught it testing in the heat of Southern Europe, they have just caught it running some hot laps around the Nurburgring. Performing with its electronically-operated soft-top lowered, the Astra Convertible looked great sprinting around the famed German track (dizzying camouflage aside).

The prototype has been rumored to carry Opel's new 1.6-liter turbo four with direct injection and stop/start system, offered in various states of tune up to 197 horsepower. The 2013 Opel Astra cabriolet is expected to debut in Paris next month, with sales to start in the spring.
